Installed these lights around the parimeter of our pool. The end result looks fantastic and these lights seem extremely well constructed. It isn't as bright as I might have expected however my expectations may have been a little high. These are plenty bright for pretty much any use-case and definitely recommend them considering the price!
CUTTING THESE ROPE LIGHTS:
As I needed a very specific length for this job, I cut the cable to fit. As expected, the lights no longer worked after cut as the circuit was no longer complete. However with a bit of investigation, testing, and simple soldering I was able to make them work after cut.
When cut, you'll note there are 3 wires inside the tube. Two of these wires need to be connected in order to complete the circuit. I can confirm that connecting the wrong onese together does not hurt anything as I tested all 3 possible connections. After soldering the correct two together, I taped off the remaining wire, and coated the end and connection in silicone. Works great!
