I use these mats for kickboxing bag work and general exercise. These are awesome! Comfortable to lay on too. Try not to pivot kicks directly on the seems too often cause it could wear them over time. But they still hold up well.

I generally use Zebra Mats brand, and I bought these for a border to fill in gaps between the wall.
In comparison to standard Judo or Wrestling mats, these are incredibly firm. Discoloring in the mats, (which is expected in any brand) makes it very hard to make uniform. Worked great for my border.

I needed to replace our home gym exercise mat since it continued to separate during heavy use. Our previous exercise mat was purchased from one of the home improvement box stores. It was probably a mistake to think a general purpose 1/4 inch mat would work as an exercise mat. After some research and reading several reviews, I decided to go with the Meister X-Thick 1.5 inch mat. Wow! What a difference. The thicker mat certainly gives much better support for kicks and ab workouts. Should make a great grappling mat too. I've had no issues with the pads separating from excessive movements. The mat is also immediately comfortable requiring no breaking period. The only downsize was the price but its worth it if you workout and are looking to purchase a mat that will last. My 12x12 mats arrived well packed in three boxes..
