I'm replacing an old carryon that finally gave up the ghost. Travelpro seemed to be well loved by others so I went with this rollaboard bag.

It seems like a very well-built piece of luggage. Nice little external pockets to stuff things in. Very sturdy. Smooth rolling wheels.

Dinging a star (and debated doing two) because there is an overpowering, sinus-burning vinyl smell that flooded the room I opened the bag up in. This wasn't like a gentle whiff of an odor... I literally had to move the bag to an exterior room outside the house. It has a clear pouch (for damp clothes I guess?) in the lid that I'm assuming is the culprit.

I have a trip coming up in a week and a half and I'm struggling to imagine a scenario where the odor has dissipated by then. We have a screened porch that I'm going to try setting it out in to see if the summer heat will speed up the off-gassing.

So far, I'm pleased with my new TravelPro suitcase. It seems well made, is light weight and fits the carry on dimensions allowed by many airlines. I love all the pocket space and handle grips. It seems sturdy. I hope it will last many travel vacations.

This suitcase held everything I needed (and probably quite a few things I didn't) for a 10-day trip. I brought back extras and never even touched the expansion feature. This thing is rugged-it survived multiple flights, bus rides, train rides, and being dragged up and down stairs. So. Many. Stairs. After all that the only wear to show is a few scuffs on the wheel plates. It looks practically new. The olive color, though a little more brown than expected, camouflages dirt and travel grime. The wheels are smooth and tackle cobblestone and uneven surfaces like a champ! The exterior straps are easy to adjust and really cinch everything down. As long as you pack it correctly with shoes and heavier items on bottom it's stable, and it never tipped. My husband's pricey Away bag just couldn't keep up!

If I had one comment it's that the handle feels a little wobbly, but it didn't give me and problems and was smooth to operate.

I'm seriously impressed! I can see this bag lasting many years for those occasions when I need too much to go carryon-only.

Just what I needed to replace a small and light weight carry-on that just didn't have the ease of use that I wanted. The Travelerpro is quite functional: the pockets are easily accessible and correctly sized. I would note that the "tablet pocket" is indeed only for a tablet. My Kindle fits, but not my 13" "Air." However, the other outside pocket accommodates my laptop nicely. I recently used it on a small commuter aircraft and the piece fit nicely into the overhead storage bin which was none too big. If the Travelpro lasts over time, I'll be very pleased.

I needed a different, "large-ish" rolling suitcase for my longer business trips. I have a very large Delsey that's still managed to keep its shape and wheels after 17 years, but it is really wide and when I need to fill it up, it gets very hard to maneuver. Plus, as I get older, I'm more clumsy, making it more likely for me to bump into people with this suitcase.

The Travelpro gives me nearly the same volume as that old Delsey. It's not as wide, but catches up with increased height and depth. I can fit all of the same things in it, and it's "slender-er" width reduces my chances of running into anyone in the parking garage shuttle bus.

We'll see how long it lasts. If it holds up like the old Delsey did, I'll be retired before I need a new one!
