I bought this coat for my upcoming Alaska trip. I live in Florida so I didn't want to invest a lot of money on a coat I may not wear again. I love North Face but I have to say this coat was a great dupe at a great price point. It has a thick and luxurious feel about it. I love all the pockets, you can cinch at the waist so it won't look boxy and the length is perfect, hits me right past my knee.
Just get it! best vegan winter coat ever for the price

Ordered this for the current "Arctic blast" in the Northeast and got it just In time. Put it on and Wow! I have bought a lot of jackets by Cole Hahn, Helly Hanson, Andrew Marc, Northface and Marmot. THIS coat beats them all! Hands down. I ordered a small and it fit just right. If you want to layer maybe get one size up from what they recommend. I am size 6 or small usually and got a small. It is perfect without layers and is warm enough in this arctic air tonight. The fabric and warmth are amazing! The hood is lined with fleece and I didn't have a problem with the fit as others mentioned for the hood it was just right and stayed on with the wind. There are snaps on the hood to keep the fur higher or lower which is nice. Snapped back or unsnapped. The coat has snaps also and a zipper. The pockets are perfect and also have snaps. The sleeves have the cuffs and hand thumb holes so if you don't hVe gloves it helps. The coat is windproof and waterproof. It zips all the way up so it kept my face warm and protected without a scarf and hat. I only had one layer and it was three degrees with sun zero wind chills tonight in the northeast. It performed beyond my hopes! I don't like down coats or fur and find this coat warmer and better made than the brands i mentioned above. I was skeptical of trying it because of not knowing the brand and for the price, but I am so glad I did and that it came on time for the Arctic blast here. I don't know why people gave it any negative reviews for the hood or lack of a waste etc. it is the best coat I have ever purchased for winter in a store or online. I hope they make it forever! Honestly, JUST GET ONE! You won't regret it! I can't say enough good things about this coat by Alpime North! Except thank you for making it!

I have used this jacket for two winters now and it looks just like it did when it arrived. I'm the volunteer caretaker of an eight-acre cemetery in Ohio, so I work every day, including during the winter. This jacket has seen me through snow-shoveling, tree planting and pruning, lots of bending while collecting downed tree limbs, and many winter gardening tasks. As a vegetarian for 40 years now, I am always thrilled to find vegan clothing options.
I should have purchased a medium, but I bought a large. I am 5'3 and weigh 128 lbs. and the size chart indicated I needed a medium. I didn't know how INCREDIBLY WARM the parka would be and I thought I would be putting a couple of layers under it so I bought a large. It turns out I usually wear a tank top or a t-shirt under the parka on the coldest of days and I am never cold in it. Even though it is too large on me, drafts don't get in. Please go by the size charts and don't buy larger than necessary thinking you'll need layers underneath because you won't, at least not in most areas of the country.
I love the abundance of pockets and the combination of a zipper and snaps. You can snap this baby clear up to your chin if you want. The cuffs don't admit any cold air since there are knit fabric cuffs under the sleeve cuffs. I nearly always wear a slouch beanie to keep my head warm, but it's nice to have the option of the hood on windy days.
I have washed the parka four times now, despite the fact that the tag says "dry clean." I wash it on the delicate cycle and put it in the dryer on "air dry" for about 30 minutes to insure its poofiness, then let it hang to finish drying. It still looks brand new. I bought it in black and the color has never run. The pictures in my review are of the parka after the fourth washing. The faux fur comes out beautifully after the air dry cycle on the dryer. There is virtually no lint in the dryer on the air dry setting, so don't worry that you'll mess up the faux fur by washing the parka.
If you wash it like I do, there is no need to dry clean it. The main reason I have washed it as often as I have is because 3 of my 5 cats consider this parka the best bed ever, so it serves that function if I toss it on a chair when I get home rather than hang it up. :)
I am delighted with this wonderfully made parka and imagine it will last me for many, many years to come.

Absolutely Amazing Jacket!

Honestly I was hesitant on spending 200+ on a jacket for myself let alone one I could not try on first, but it was time for me to get a new one and I decided to take a chance. I am 130lbs and 5'0'' and the small fit perfect, with room to layer underneath, although I have to say this jacket is so warm I doubt layering is needed. I live in New York in the mountains so it gets quite cold, living in the woods requires me to do outside maintenance on my property. This jacket works for that and is quite stylish so I can also use on a night out! The selling factor for me is the fact that it is a completely vegan jacket, the fur industry is a horribly cruel industry that I would never support. Thank you for making such an outstanding product!
Felt like negative 61 degrees

Purchased this coat for a trip the Sub-artic. We reached our Canadian destination during what the locals called their "deep freeze". It had been in the negative 30-40s for numerous days with windchills making it feel like -60-70s. Since I don't have a real need for a parka I didn't want to shell out the money for some of the more expensive Canadian brands. As you can see my eyelashes and eyebrows have ice crystals indicating how cold it really was. This coat kept me warm and sometimes "hot". I went snow shoeing, dogsledding, chasing auroras and walks through town and was comfortable. The length was good. Covered my behind but was not restrictive when sledding. It has numerous pockets inside and on the exterior of the coat. Good for phone, ID, credit cards, etc. no need to carry a purse. One of people I traveled with purchased the same coat. She was pleased with her purchase also. Now I have to find another "extreme" cold vacation so I can wear it again. By the way, this color is beautiful.
