First and foremost, VIZIO customer support was impeccable. They were prompt with helping, and sent out a new soundbar right away (got it within the week) and set it up. Updated all the software (using the iphone app is the easiest way to get the settings for the subwoofer and speakers right) and set up the TV. Since then i have had ZERO issues with the crackling/popping noise in the subwoofer. For the money paid for this, and the ATMOS sound, it is a great sound bar. I have rather enjoyed the price point and quality of VIZIO soundbars thus far. the customer service prompt fix made this worth the money. I also enjoy the fact it remembers the previous sound levels from differnet inputs. For whatever reason my XBOX one outputs at a higher volume than my TV, either way, its nice that when i switch over, i dont have to run and push the mute or down volume button right away.

definitely worth the money, but you may have to jump through a couple hoops.

Soundbar (3.1.2) sounds great, atmos or otherwise. You need to adjust the bass and subwoofer according to your room and preference, but this thing can BOOM.

I really had high hopes for this, but as i see in other reviews the popping noise in the sound bar (intermittent tapping, inconsistent with quick or long pauses in between, but frequently enough to be very noticeable) when the volume level of the scene or show or game is low, is really annoying. This happens through the TV (HDMI ARC) or with an Xbox One directly connected (HDMI in) I tried repositioning the subwoofer away from any potential interference and it did not work.

I tried one round of tech support from Vizio, which consisted of a hard reset of both the soundbar and subwoofer and pairing them again. This worked for about 36 hours, but the popping returned. Now on the second round with VIzio, they decided to send me a brand new soundbar and will return the first one. Fingers crossed.

I am totally thrilled with this system, it performs beyond expectations. The base is really powerfull, strong and clean (I suspected it will rock when I picked it up, it is heavy meaning good amp and solid construction), actually had to turn it down a bit. Also, the sounds bar works great, same sold construction and great channel separation. Because the thing is 46 inches long, you actually get real physical separation between speakers unlike shorter bars when all the sounds kind of run together. I am using the system in a den. TrueHD Atmos really shines here. I love the looks of the system as well , "less is more" design theme, looks clean and elegant. Over all very impressed, great bank for the money. Setup was pretty straight forward BUT the initial software setup had hiccups, had to install Smart Cast to do firmware update and it only took hold AFTER I disconnected from the TV (hence 4 stars). Smart Cast app is really nifty but needs polishing. However, I do like using it for both the soundbar system and my Vizio Quantum TV to the point that remote only serves as a backup. Hanging the bar was a piece of cake. In regards to the delivery, unfortunately I had to return the first shipment but Amazon replaced it no problem. Package was totally banged up, both sub and bar were damaged. Anyway. I think Vizio has a winner on their hands here, matter of fact got the 5.4 version for guest area with Quantum X TV and was blown away, they just need to Polish the app and tweak the initial setup but once you have it running is tottaly rocks, keep it up Vizio !

Pretty simple set up. Sound quality is ridiculously good, especially at this price point. Neighbor has a $4k BOSE and likes this system better. The remote is a bit confusing and I wish there were better controls on the long bar because the lights can be a bit confusing. Overall, this is a solid system and I would definitely recommend.

I installed the 3.1.2 sound bar in our outside patio area (under cover with 8' ceiling) to a Samsung QLED TV and it sounds great! Now I can enjoy Dolby Atmos media through Netflix, Amazon Prime and others. To maximize Dolby Atmos available media, I connected it up to the Apple TV 4K. Best thing I could have done. Netflix, Prime, VUDU, etc., have quirky requirements where Dolby Atmos is only supported through certain hardware, i.e., type of TV you have, etc. Apple TV 4K is the only device that currently supports all major streaming services with Dolby Atmos content therefore the positive plug for Apple TV in my review. Other streaming devices like Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, Chromocast, etc., do not pass through the Dolby Atmos from all the streaming services that the Apple TV 4K does. What good is a Dolby Atmos sound bar if the availability is so extremely limited by hardware/software requirements right? Netflix probably has the most Dolby Atmos content out there right now and it only works through LG OLED TVs (2017 or higher), XBOX One, Apple TV 4K and Windows 10 desktops. Who knows how long it'll be before Netflix starts supporting older equipment, if at all.

Setup was pretty straightforward with the Vizio 3.1.2 soundbar. I connected it to the HDMI-ARC OUT from the soundbar to the ARC IN on my TV . My Apple TV 4K is connected to the one HDMI IN input on the Vizio.

The remote control is fairly easy to use and will run your TV commands if you choose to use that exclusively. However, since the sound bar is connected through ARC and I have Anynet+ enabled on my Samsung, I was using the Samsung remote before getting the Apple TV device. Now I'm using the Apple remote exclusively and it works great.

Regarding the audio, this soundbar is pretty impressive even without playing Dolby Atmos content. The "virtual height" mode option didn't really impress me much, it can actually make it difficult to understand voices through regular stereo content coming from your cable or other provider. Kind of depends what you're watching, e.g., movie, sports, news, etc. However, you can switch the height mode from On, Off or Virtual depending on your room configuration. The other neat remote control feature is if you don't know what type of audio format is currently coming through your sound system, you can press the "info" command on the remote and it speaks what format is coming through. In other words, a voice will come over the sound system and state: "HDMI-ARC (tells which connection you're using), DOLBY ATMOS/DOLBY MAT." Or "HDMI-ARC, DOLBY DIGITAL/DOLBY DIGITAL+," etc. Good for troubleshooting if you believe you're supposed to be getting a certain format over your system from your streaming source.

The subwoofer really puts out some great thumping lows and it should given how big this thing is. You can crank this soundbar up too and it'll more than fill the room with sound to the point you can't tolerate it. That's good in my book, some sound systems don't have the output and can be disappointing. Never had any issues with the subwoofer connecting through the wifi.

If you're looking for a moderately priced Dolby Atmos sound system without rear speakers, this is for you. Glad I bought this when Vizio drop the price $100 just recently, appears it's back up to $799 again.

This speaker system is amazing! I like bass and it definitely meets/exceeds my expectation. Installation was very easy and if you have a Visio smart TVs the set up pretty much takes care of itself. Once set up your tv controller automatically adjusts center channel and subwoofer. Positioning of the subwoofer really makes a difference on sound quality given the dynamic harmonic conditions of each room. My office/dude den is 20x12 and it really fills the room. Higher frequency sounds are also NOT lacking. Even at high volume the center channel has no distortion .
