Bought this for my Walmart bike and it works fine but I was really skeptical at first glance. It came in the packaged with its paint sorta chipped(if you look in the picture) and the plastic looked like its been sitting outside for a while. I mean its not terrible but when you buy something new, you'd expect it to be in great condition but it sure didn't look like it. It rattled a bit and in general it was kind of wobbly out of the box. I thought it was going to break but rode it for an hour minutes and it shifts smoothly. no problems so far.

This derailleur was a perfect replacement for a broken one off a Walmart bike. Was able to hit all 21 gears, even with original cheap chain and rear cassette.
(Take a close look and make sure this is the one you need, with the mounting screw. The wheel fits over it.)

This replaced the RD-ty18 derailleur originally on my 2001 Walmart Next full suspension 21 speed mtb. Both are the least expensive type. Not all of my bike repair attempts are successful but this one went well. It seems as sturdy as the original but the original was destroyed when I ran over a stick! It weighs 47 pounds with rear rack and baskets. It's a good bike for rough city streets and sidewalks.

My wife's bike apparently had enough of this shifting while going uphill business and promptly snapped the derailleur in half. This new part fits great works well and with a little fine tuning made the shifting good as new. Only problem is the pronunciation... I have to get you a new derailier...derailillillerer...deraililleuerrred...shifter thingy!
