We use it in our motorhome and the connections went smoothly. I actually mounted the camera inside the back window and connected it to a USB port so no drilling or extra wiring through the body of the motorhome. It has a good picture but the reflection on the window glass at night makes it unusable but we rarely drive at night so it's not a problem or a defect.
Very Good Backup Camera
Randy✓ Verified Purchase•January 7, 2024
This is a very good backup camera and outperforms some of the higher priced competitors' cameras. The installation process is easy and did not take long at all. After two months of use the camera or power unit went out so customer service sent a replacement immediately. Customer Service has been great to deal with and that is very important to me when choosing a product. My only recommendation to the manufacturer is to have a longer and or stronger antenna on the camera which would help on longer vehicles such as pickup trucks and suvs.
Good Product but No Adapter to Power from Fuse Box
Dennis P.✓ Verified Purchase•January 2, 2024
I like this camera system. The wireless connection solved some concerns for installation. I would give it a high 4 stars close to 5 as it is good for the price (especially with a $30 Amazon Coupon). I think the image is reasonable for an inexpensive system and it provides enough image for backing up safely. The night image is good enough too (black and white).
However, the description states the monitor can be powered by a fuse box. I'm sure it can but the manufacturer does nothing to make that reasonable. The only power you can get is from a cigarette lighter adapter. The manufacturer does not provide a connector with any tinned wires or other means to connect to a fuse box or anywhere else and the plug to the monitor is tiny and non-standard so you can't simply try to make one yourself. You would have to cut the cord from the cigarette lighter adapter then figure out which tiny wire you need to connect to power and ground. No help from the manufacturer there either. And hopefully there aren't any other wires that you mess up because it uses a four-pin connector. Not wanting to risk that I'd damage the thing, I simply am plugging it in with it's far oversized cable. I now notice that another buyer mentions the same thing in a video he posted. Seems like he will gamble and cut the power cord then wire it in. Hopefully he provides some feedback about his experience. While I won't go so far as to call the description for this device as deceptive, it is careless and should provide more details.
UPDATE: I received a response from the manufacturer to my review. They indicate they will improve their instructions in the future. In the meantime this is what I was told: "After cutting off the cigarette lighter adapter, you will see one red wire and one black wire, then connect the red wire to the accessory power fuse and the black wire to the ground. Cutting off the adapter does not invalidate the warranty. "
Hope this helps anyone who wants to hardwire the display to a power source at the fuse box. There certainly is enough cable. As a result I've upgraded my rating to a solid four stars. The camera is working fine.

Excellent Customer Service and Camera

I purchased this camera for a 2012 Honda. The installation was pretty easy. The first camera/screen I received was a little unclear on the edges. I contacted the company and they shipped me out a replacement without any fuss. Surprisingly my customer service contact stayed in contact with me until I was completely satisfied with the product. I have a clear picture, no distortion. And unlike most back up cameras the picture appears almost instantly. Great camera, great value!
Beyond warranty help

My unit worked great for about 5 yrs and then stopped. I reached out to Auto Vox for support and they diagnosed my plug in the lighter had gone bad and they recommended a replacement. Although I was out of warranty, they offered a $19 refund if I ordered the $30 replacement. I received the new unit and the refund and the unit is working perfectly again.
