Installation of Emergency Shut Off Switch on 3-1/2 HP Hangkai Outboard Boat Motor. Emergency switch available at West Marine, Brand BEP Hill Switch & Lanyard, Model #1001601
1. Remove side cover of the engine of which the original shut off button is mounted.
2. Replace original ends of wire with female spade connectors.
3. Picture shows where to drill a 5/8" hole in outer case adjacent to the pull starter base.
4. Put switch thru hole, tighten locknut. Take the 2 wires that you have replaced the ends on and plug them into C & C terminal.
As an added note, the labeling of the choke "OPEN" "CLOSE" is backwards. The convention in the USA when it says "ON" it means the choke is closed. When it says "OFF", it means it's open.

I could not get the motor to start for nothing, but like most 2 strokes I had pulled the choke out and left it out. Sent a comment to the dealer and he sent me videos, seems on this one after two pulls turn the choke all the way off. Once I did that it started on the third pull. This after trying to start it for 2 days, all my other 2 stroke engines require the choke fully on even to warm up running before you can turn it off.

The media could not be loaded. This is worth your money, i bought the 6.0 2 stroke yes with shipping it cost me a bit over 800$, However it works, it starts, and for the money you can not do much better, Pro the Prop is metal where i have found many of the smaller hp out boards have plastic props,

It has clear easy to understand stickers all over it so it is almost dummy proof, and the 6 hp being one of the largest options you can buy i have found it pretty powerful, i would not buy anything smaller and a paddle or your hand could move you along the water faster depending on weight,

i have 16 foot long fiberglass boat and this little motor run me around the lake easy peasy, not a speed boat but nice for fishing and it it is light enough to take out in the bush for those hard to reach lakes.

i am happy with my purchase and would do it again, but lets hope i can get 5 years or so out of this motor first. hope this helps

Seller was more than cooperative, when I contacted him about problem. Said it would cost too much for him to ship it back, so just keep it and he refunded all of my purchase price. I then took it apart, and found that the water line was twisted not allowing water to pass through motor. Runs great! Has power you would not believe. I have mine on a plastic 10 foot 2 inch, two person boat (Pelican from Academy). My brother and I together have a combined weight of about 600lbs, and full throttle will get us up to 10 miles per hour.
So, with all that said, I would recommend this product to everyone. I Love it.

Was sceptical for price make sure you add the gear oil and break in not a speed demon maybe 2-3 mph on a 14 ft fiberglass boat but starts easy and is light weight very good looking for what it is recovery this one comes with extra replacement parts like starter
