If you buy one and it does not pump water. check the water line in motor, twisted I am sure..

Seller was more than cooperative, when I contacted him about problem. Said it would cost too much for him to ship it back, so just keep it and he refunded all of my purchase price. I then took it apart, and found that the water line was twisted not allowing water to pass through motor. Runs great! Has power you would not believe. I have mine on a plastic 10 foot 2 inch, two person boat (Pelican from Academy). My brother and I together have a combined weight of about 600lbs, and full throttle will get us up to 10 miles per hour.
So, with all that said, I would recommend this product to everyone. I Love it.

Emergency Shut-Off Switch

Installation of Emergency Shut Off Switch on 3-1/2 HP Hangkai Outboard Boat Motor. Emergency switch available at West Marine, Brand BEP Hill Switch & Lanyard, Model #1001601
1. Remove side cover of the engine of which the original shut off button is mounted.
2. Replace original ends of wire with female spade connectors.
3. Picture shows where to drill a 5/8" hole in outer case adjacent to the pull starter base.
4. Put switch thru hole, tighten locknut. Take the 2 wires that you have replaced the ends on and plug them into C & C terminal.
As an added note, the labeling of the choke "OPEN" "CLOSE" is backwards. The convention in the USA when it says "ON" it means the choke is closed. When it says "OFF", it means it's open.

Just returned from a 10 day trip into the Alaskan wilderness using 2 of these motors mounted on 14' Bris inflatables.
- We flew into Becharof lake (2nd largest in Ak) in float planes so the motors had to be light weight & compact - 20 lbs @
- We traveled half the length of the lake & back, several shorter Lake trips & up rivers using less than 10 gallons of fuel
- At 3.5 hp these motors aren't fast. They supplied constant, consistent power to get us to our destination
- The motors have very short shafts making them ideal in swallow water such as rivers and creeks.
- The motors started and ran every time. I am totally impressed with reliability, and all for $230? Wow

- The gas cap came undone from both motors. I lost one overboard.
- The manual could use some work, but gets you through if you're patient.

To be clear, this review is for the customer service I received. This company/person is in my top 10 for customer service! This is more important to me than the item I buy. If you think about it whether the product is good, terrible or just faulty, if you don't have good customer service you will get nowhere. When I purchased this motor there was definitely something wrong with it. By the time we put it on the boat and in the water to give it a go the initial warranty had expired. I communicated with the company and they explained the warranty had expired. They tried to help me to get to the problem and perhaps be able to fix it but I was not capable of doing what was required. They graciously gave me a full refund upon the return of the item including the return shipping. I must tell you I am very impressed with this company. There are not many left out there that honor their customers anymore. This is an honorably run company!

Purchased the 3.5 hp outboard sold by NOPTEG. Didn't expect a lot from this motor giving the price, however the propeller drive locked up during first use and expected more than 30 min. Somehow one of the propeller driveshaft bushings was galled and bound up. Had this repaired at a local shop and the seller posted funds to pay for this plus $20 for the inconvenience very promptly. The outboard now works very well and has about 10 hrs on it. Very satisfied with the seller during this dealing and now satisfied with the outboard which is used on an inflatable skiff and a canoe carrying 2 people and light gear. Moves the canoe better.
