These chains are much more substantial than the set they replace. This set has twice as many cross chains and the chain itself is thicker. The winter here in NJ so far has been very mild so I'm not sure if I'll get to try them but I'm sure they'll be outstanding. I also purchased the tension springs to keep them tight which work very well too.

Nice tire chains but are a little loose on a 23x10.50x12 garden tractor tire. Needed to get a set of rubber chain tighteners to keep then snug. Easy to attach. Works well. Would buy again.

I am using these chains on turf tires on my Simplicity 7016, and they provide excellent traction! Each tread link is twisted to provide maximum contact with the surface. I suppose that had I needed them quickly, they would have installed so and tightly as well with chain tensioners (not provided) installed with them. But to make them extra tight, I relieved the air from the tires, removed one of the treads and installed them. Inflating the tires made the chains tight as can be, and they work great in snow, ice & mud! I intend to install ag tires soon for which I will buy another set for them! I definitely recommend these tire chains.
