Overall seems like very sturdy unit, maybe. the base sure will last forever and will be a good host to customize.
Assembly: Who knows : everyone makes up their own assembly process due to lack of instructions. Right ;) Oh, it's not really that hard, screw the feet into the arms, but there are sure a lot of washers...
this is what i assume was intended: Screw, Washer, rubber Foot, Base, Clip on top.

In any case, *first time* to flex an arm one of the clips broke. Grabbed the short one pulled down and the clip gave before the arm did, kind of weird i though there was some kind of hinge there before i realized the clip structurally just gave up. which resulted in the clip 'nearly' breaking off near the 'narrow waist'.... oh boy not off to great start. Thankfully they just screw off and look easy enough to replace with something custom. BUT not a good look. While the clips have pretty good retention they are the weak link in the kit.

But that aside: if you are careful with the clips and not stress them too much, they hold well and the product works for its intended purpose.

Base is well weighted. Wish the locking knurled thumb screws were metal.

I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon. Most of the stuff lives up to the reviews more or less. Every once in a while you run into something that is above and beyond your expectations. This is one of those rare products.

I expected a helping hands tool that could grab stuff. I expected a metal base, twisty bits, decent clips and all the stuff you need for a set of helping hands - but like the ones I had before which were a little tippy, a little subject to damage if you moved them wrong, etc. What I got was an absolutely solid powder coated steel base supporting six stout arms with clips mounted on rotating knobs that can be tightened down to be fixed. I expected this unit to move around like helping hands if I pushed on it. This does NOT. It anchors your work solidly to the desk owing to its weight and little rubber feet.

I am delighted with my purchase. If you want something that will dominate the deskspace dedicated to it and make it easy to work on your projects pick this one.

This was a good tool for me to have when I am trying to do repairs on ps3 joysticks. The first thing I will say about this is that it is heavier than I expected. The base is actually made of really heavy metal. It is painted pretty well but it is easy to scratch and chip off. It does require some assembly. You have to screw each leg into place follow by adding the grip base at the bottom. The stoppers at the bottom are actually quite big but keeps the base from slipping pretty well. One thing to note is that this does require a screw driver to install. It is not included with this so be away of that. Each teeth clamps pretty well. It does not cause any damage to the board that I can tell but I am not sure this will work for hobby kits due to the teeth. It could leave a mark on the plastic. It is easy to change the position of the legs but it holds a good amount of weight. It holds the board pretty well. I am able to remove solder easier with this. I do not have to worry about it damaging the surface underneath from the heat. Solder falling on this does cause the paint to chip off when you remove it but I am okay with that. This is meant to help with repairs. Overall this acts as a great way to give me an extra hand when soldering repairs to the ps3 controller joystick. What I love about it is that there are multiple legs so you can use one to hold the joystick part in place while trying to solder it into place. This is pretty heavy but it keeps the device from sliding. It does require some assembly and the tools are not included but it is well worth it. The legs are sturdy and I do not have to worry about them falling over or dropping the board I am working on.

Assemble easily and quite stable! Recommend!
