I purchased this to use on my 7-year-old granddaughter, who wanted to dye her hair but her mommy would not allow it; SO got a temporary solution just for fun. Her hair is brown, so -- as the description warned -- it was a little tougher to get the color to stick. However, I wet her hair just a smidge and removed the chalk from the combs and rubbed it on directly. Once I did that, the color stuck fairly well. It did NOT look like the pictures here on Amazon, but my granddaughter was happy with the result and that's the most important thing. It rinsed right out in the shower with plain water before she even used shampoo, so that part was also awesome. Overall would recommend for something fun to do, but don't expect professional results as shown in the online photos (unless perhaps your hair is blonde, maybe that would yield different results).
Most colors vibrant, pull hair after a little use.

My daughter loves these, but they're not my favorite. They're pretty waxy on the hair like a thick hair spray almost. You can't easily brush through the hair after the color is applied, as with other more powdery products we've tried. The colors are pretty vibrant for the most part. They're good for the price, but as you use the product and the block gets cut into a bit it does pull the hair a little. The little caps on the brushes also fall off easily so it's easy for the blocks to fall out. Not as messy as other products. None of the negatives are a deal breaker, I'll continue to use them up and would purchase again because they're fun and well priced for what it is.

My 10 year old ordered this with her Christmas money. She has honey blonde hair and I had to push kind of hard for it to "stick" (red) - and of course it got a bit on my hands. But she loved it! MY favorite part is that it washed out completely with shampoo... Also, my husbands favorite part as he put the blue in his hair to be funny. The sticks are much smaller than they appear in the photo and the only way the color would be as vibrant in the demo photo is if you had white hair and possibly a professional stylist. :)
