Well made and durable. Many, many uses, even in rough-bottom pool surfaces.
This version is more difficult to put on, so submerge in water first.
More difficult to kick off, too. I recommend practicing kicking it off in shallow waters until familiar.

Daughter loves this...it's a lot of fun. We would like to purchase a new cover as it wore very quickly due to standing on the concrete floor of our pool...wore holes on heal. Our fault but would have been nice to know this...yes, it may be something mondain and should already know but it wore holes in a week. disappointing but we just hope to be able to order a new cover and now we know not to stand on the floor...keeping it up and swim!! It's pretty awesome tho.

This fin is way better than the basic. It holds the feet so much more securely and that translates to better use in the water. Finfun is a great company. It's a one size fits all so the first time it can be hard to get on, but that's a good thing. I found that shoving your feet in as far as they can go helps to fit the fin over your heel. I wear a men's 12, and they still fit my feet. The padding inside is really nice to push against in the water. Also the cover comes off so it could be washed, but don't dry it cuz the fin will loose it's tight fit.

Fit:This fin is a little hard to get on, but I wear a size 10 women's. I let a guy friend try it on (size 11 mens) and the stitching ripped a little.
Construction: It's just a piece of plastic with a "sock" over it with foot holes, so feel it's a little expensive for what it actually is.
Functionality: You can swim with this but I would not recommend this to someone who is not a strong swimmer. It's a workout, and takes some getting used to so please make sure to read and follow the included instruction sheet. And don't try to swim with this if you're drunk!! Its too much work!
Efficiency: the design if this fin doesnt maximize on swimming power. You can swim in it but I think if the fluke's fins were a bit wider you could get more efficient propulsion.
Looks: Umm, amazing, because you are in a mermaid tail!
Conclusion: This is a fun toy for mermaiding around in. It's not professional grade but works for it's intended porpoises (see what I did there?).
