This soap dispenser seems to work very well. In my opinion, it feels a bit cheaply made especially compared to the one I removed. But it works, so I am happy. The part that rests on the counter is only 1 1/2 inches, it barely covered the hole. I have no clue how a larger person could install it---my cabinet is divided so I had to fit through one door and work around a deep sink. But that is true for replacing any soap dispenser.
