Ok, this is the fourth brand of non-Bluetooth wireless headphone I am on, let me list the problems with the others that this Sony unit corrects: hissing when audio signal mutes, drifting of tuning frequency when head temperature warms them up, buttons for volume, fussy tuning, cable for charging instead of just contact charge connection, headsets squeak when you chew, ear pads uncomfortable, muddy sound on music, etc etc. So these Sony headphones seem to not have these issues, as far as I can tell after a day of using them. There is one quirk with the tuning - you need to press a button on the right earpad to get the autotune to lockin to the signal, otherwise there is no sound, and it seems the autotune button needs to be pressed every time the signal drops out and the headphones go into sleep mode, which is evidenced by a brief 1 second of hiss. The charging stand is nice and simple and easy to mount the headphones on and has an LED to show when audio is present. Overall a nice non-Bluetooth headphone, with the range of old-school RF and without the fussiness and headaches of Bluetooth.

I bought the earphones because I need the TV volume to be much louder than my wife can tolerate. To solve the problem, I connected separate amplifier to the TV, and I've been using it with wired earphones for years. But I finally got tired of dealing with the cord. Now I'm free to roam around the room and never miss a word of the program. The sound is clear and in sync with the picture, and the volume range is more than adequate. The earphones only need to be recharged every couple of weeks with my limited TV viewing. My only grumble is that the volume control is very sensitive, and difficult to find while wearing the earphones - small potatoes. I love them.
