Haven't use them yet as the snowshoe season is over. I was pleased to note the placement of holders for the ends of the straps that go under your boot. The bottom of the gaiter is not squared, it is curved to cover your heel. I will update next winter

They are more adjustable at the calf and the fabric is better than the ones I looked at in the store in person. I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised at the good quality I found with these. So much so that I bought 3 more pair for my adult kids for the next trip out into the trails and brush of hiking. . .Could have used these at Grayson Highlands a month ago.

I am a big guy, and have large calves. These would fit properly so I returned them. I will say the material, stitching and height of these gaiters was just right, just wouldn't go around my legs comfortably.
