I was trying to tone down brassiness in my dark blonde color. This gave me hair colored like Courtney Cox. with purplish highlights. Maybe left it on too long? Not sure what happened, I usually use L'Oreal 8.5 Light Ash Blonde, thought 8S would be same tonal family, just cooler and a bit darker.
Got compiments at work for the dramatic change, I said I did it out of boredom with my color; but I have already ordered a different color to gradually lighten back closer to dark blonde. PS I am 62, natural color is dark blonde with 1/3 grays. Been using L'Oreal for over 30 years.

This is the first time I have used preference by L'Oreal medium blonde color hair dye. I usually go get all of my hair dye at the beauty supply store but this time I thought I would try getting it from Amazon so I would not have to go to the store. It is a rich, gold caramel color and I always get compliments when I cover my roots.
It doesn't dry my hair, and the conditioner smells a bit like honey. The color tone stays for long (I color every 3 months) and it covers my whites okay, but not 100%, but because of the color, the whites look like highlights since they absorb some of the tonality of the color.

This is a very easy to use hair color. The color is exactly what I wanted. However, I have stubborn gray hair, and even though I left it on longer as instructed, grays are already shining thru. This was a great price, but not worth it to me if I have to color more frequently to cover the gray!
