Live in very rural area in the mountains. 100 miles from the tv towers. Installed the amplifier and now watching our local channels. Works great.

This is one of the few amplifiers which has adjustable signal boost and an FM switch to allow for boosting FM signals. I previously ordered the same unit with the Trisonic brand name and it was dead on arrival. I decided the Nippon America brand would have better quality control. The unit I received works as advertised. I would have given 5 stars except that the instruction sheet was missing. Fortunately I had the other instruction sheet. To turn off the FM trap, push the black slide switch to the out position.
CAN'T SAY IT DOESN'T WORK, BUT .....

I just cut the cord last June, bought the Amazon Recast DVR on black Friday, and we love it. However, our local CBS station has some intermittent pixellation, just enough to be annoying. We were using a 25db signal amp and thought this 36db amp would perhaps give us that extra boost to clear up that problem. We put it in line and it was the exact same. Using the gain knob, we tested it, in steps from low to max. No improvement. Of course it was not worse, but that 36db gain didn't do anything. It worked as well as the 25db amp, so not sure what the deal is. Since it did nothing for me, it was returned, but it DID work as well as that 25db amp and it was a bit less expensive.
