Make sure you have a good vacuum in your vent pipe

I'm having a lot of smoke issues with it but I'm probably doing something wrong.. like my wood may have been damp and I overfilled it. Ahh it smokes a lot regardless of how full I had it. May need to drill some more holes in it to get better air flow also. Only used it two nights though in temps near zero. Thank God we had double sleeping bags though as our white duck tent was not nearly as easy to heat as I'd hoped... I'm an amateur though so just learning. I think it will still serve us well as I fine tune it's use
Be aware.. this is SMALL!!

Overall, this is well built and the materials are thick. The chimney pipes are a nice steel and seem like they would last a while. My biggest issue... this thing is small!! I knew it would be small and its meant to be small... but I didn't expect it to be THAT small - the entire stove comes in a bag that holds everything and that bag can fit into a 5 gallon bucket. At its lowest height with legs attached is less than 17" - the door is nice but very small making it difficult to stack logs and get this thing started. It runs well but when you close the door damper anymore than half way, the fire goes out. Overall... this would probably be nice for a very small area 8x8 max and that may be too big. I liked it but after 1 burn... i had to return it. Just too small for my liking but it is well built. Just understand what you are buying (I thought I did but I underestimated the actual size. I am going to look into a larger one from the "chef's."

The racks leave more to be desired. They are 4.5" wide and only about 14" long. Not really drying racks that would be super useful.

I wanted to like this and I gave it a shot but it's just not for me. I can see using this for a small tent or ice fishing shack.

Here are some dimensions from the manufacturer website:

Dimensions: 17-1/4 inches long, 9-4/5 inches wide (19-1/3 inches with grates) and 16-1/2 inches tall (23 inches with legs extended)
Can use wood up to 16-1/2 inches long and 4 inches in diameter
Door opening is 5-3/4 inches x 4-1/2 inches
Easy setup and only takes a few minutes
Firebox measures 16-3/4 inches long, 9 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches tall
Several burns, no issues!

I have used this stove for two camps and just for fun once. Works great for a cheap little stove. I wish it had a damper! The pipes will stick together and you won't be able to get them apart. In a true backpacking situation this could be an issue but I just loaded it up in the truck as the stack.
Superb!!

I was excited to get this "little" stove, and it is impressive. I was able to get a fire started fairly quickly. With the small opening it poses a pecular start. Once I got some larger twigs in there it was going along nicely. I was able to boil some water for hot chocolate while I was out there. The fire maintained itself really with the stove pipes drawing the smoke up very well. The stove weight and build is a very good balance. Quality materials were used and everything seemed very machined. The pipes are made with a heavy gauge single wall stainless steel, comes with a flue brush. The legs went on very quickly and seem super stable. The tool for the door worked very well. Using the tool on the damper was good until it was getting hotter. It became hard almost stuck to try to move it. I didnt get a chance to see about adjusting it. I will probably keep it in the most open position as that allowed for an awesome burn and very nice heat. I did not have to drill any additional holes. You will want to quarter small logs mostly for this stove. Twigs worked well and the 3" log did get caught up in the flame after a bit. Great stove, the discriptions on the site are all there and accurate. So know what your buying so you can maximize your joy, hahaha! Great product, I highly recommend! The first picture is day 2!
In short, MEH!

The price is less than what I paid for it originally, the quality is decent, set up and take down is good. The pipes themselves have to be tapped on the ground to get them apart but they do come apart just turn and tap then try to twist (always works). Ventilation, this stove has to have the door open to burn, unless you make bigger holes there's no way around it. Does it get the job done? Yes but you should have adequate ventilation. It's perfect for a hot tent but other than that no. I wouldn't use this for any weather under 40° unless you want to have someone constantly guarding the fire. It's compact, easy to use, easy to assemble, the pipe is the only part that takes effort in take down and it's easy to clean out. Spend the extra money if you want a 4 season stove. Good deal for the money.
