I needed replacement struts to hold up the rear deck on my boat. There are lots of options on Amazon, but selected the Arana and I'm glad I did. I was replacing 40lb struts, but could only find 45lb. Bought them thinking it would be fine. Arrived quickly, but I got caught up in other projects so didn't get around to installing for a few weeks. When I finally did, one of the struts bent. I guess it was too much for my application. I tried to return through Amazons standard returns, but was about a week outside of the return window. I contacted Arana and they were super helpful. They offered to either refund or replace the struts and even agreed to send me the 25lb struts. Like the original order, they arrived in a couple days. I installed them and they worked perfectly. Arana even followed up with me to make sure I was happy.
In these days when it's hard to find good help and we're told to expect less, Arana provided more. If you're trying to decide which Amazon vendor for your strut needs, go with Arana!

I did not know what kind of force I needed for my homemade tin door, so I guessed and I guessed a bit low. I cannot fault the product for that as the seller is very clear on how difficult it is to figure out which amount of force you need for your unique project. So for your reference, I have this tin door on the back of this homemade trailer, its about 3 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide, with a very lightweight wood frame on big hinges. These 22 pound struts only hold the door open when its pretty much nearly vertical. Any breeze that puts pressure on the door and its coming down (fairly hard). That is purely 100% because I did not order strong enough struts. I felt both struts before installation and they seemed quite strong, but that door has a lot of leverage on those little guys too. So I ordered the next level up in strength and may swap these out at some point. I haven't yet, they do hold this door but just barely. The seller reached out to see if they worked for me and I did not respond because I will keep this set as spares if I put the stronger ones in, but I got the impression they would swap them out for me if I wanted. For this reasonable price I will just keep both sets.

These lift shocks are crazy strong. Used for my truck cap and I'm afraid I might break the rear window. If I try and close it with one hand the opposite side shock is so strong it doesn't budge and the window/door twists. I have to use both hands even and equally spaced to avoid breaking the window! Minus one star for my purpose but I am impressed with the build quality and strength of these.

I repaired a broken bulkhead torsion spring, by installing this gas shock. Now the door opens and shuts with ease. Before fixing the door had no support and would slam when closing and the door would be heavy when opening. In order for gas shock to clear bulkhead door I had to mount on spacer blocks. The spacer blocks were 4" x 4" X 4" blocks that I cut from a 4x4. In order to have full travel when opening & closing door, I had to install in very specific location. I tried mounting in several locations, before mounting in location that would allow full travel open to close. This mount location is the only location I could get full travel. The bracket mounted on door was installed as close as possible to bulkhead hinge (see close up pictures). The spacer on door is mounted so it just barely clears the bulkhead. Also I rotated gas shock bracket on door so the bracket attached to shock is closest to door hinge as possible, because the hole on bracket that attaches to shock is offset, not centered. It works good and door has full travel from open to close. I used the 22.5-pound shock because I measured the force to open using a fish scale attached to edge of door as I opened door.
