It does a good job. My only regret is that it doesn't have an App to control it, but if it did, I'd only use it occasionally.

I own a couple other sous vide units, but I liked to looks of this KitchenBoss unit, so I bought it. It does what it's supposed to do, and it's much prettier than some of the other units on the market. Only problem I found is that the temperature difference between the display on the unit and the actual water temp is about 3 - 4 degrees. It's not a big deal and I will keep that in mind when using it in the future (temp display on unit is 3-4 degrees warmer than actual water temp). In other words, when I set the temp on the unit at 145 degrees, it will warm the water up to somewhere between 141 - 142 degrees and hold it there. Again, no big deal. When I want something to cook to an internal temp of 145 degrees, I'll simply set the unit at 148 or 149 degrees. But it is noteworthy, especially since this is supposed to be a "Precision" cooker. It is for this reason that I only gave it a 4 star rating. I wish there was some way to calibrate the unit, but calibration is not mentioned anywhere in the instruction manual.

This KitchenBoss immersion heater is excellent. The build quality is great and it works exactly as expected.
I had an Anova stick when I lived in Europe that was a gift and it was top-notch, unfortunately it won't work with US electricity so I gave it away when I moved back to the US.
The newer Anova's have too many features in my opinion, I don't need WiFi or Bluetooth on my sousvide system (not sure why anyone does really).
I was a little skeptical about the kitchenBoss but it's completely exceeded my expectations.
I've used it 2-3 times a week for the past several months and I've never had an issue.
