It seems accurate/consistent as far as I can tell. It's got the rubber tip so it's comfortable keeping it in your mouth. My biggest complaint, and the reason why I knocked off a star, is how long it takes. I have to set my phone alarm 3 minutes earlier than my alarm clock that actually gets me up out of bed to give it time to get a reading. I'm trying not to judge too harshly for that given that I'm not a morning person, so that's already difficult for me, but that feels like an excessive amount of time to get a basal temp without waking up/moving and raising your temp that way.

Basal Thermometers need to be extremely accurate for people using this method to track their cycles. I used three thermometers to be sure I had the right temp in the beginning. This one was always significantly off from the other two. So just a warning if you are wanting to use this for cycle tracking. We use it now for when we are sick and love it for that, hence the 4 star review.
