Well made trap

The trap itself seems to be well made comparing it to similar traps that were American made before everything was outsourced overseas. It would have been a nice feature to include a bait tray that can be secured to the cage floor. The instructions are brief and not clear. The pictures that go with each step don't match the description. If you are not mechanically inclined you will have problems unfolding and securing this trap in the ready position.
Does what it’s supposed to

I re-enforced the places on the trap that people complained about in the bad reviews and have had no problems with it so far. Easy to set with a long stick to shove the bait to the back and when it is triggered the trap door will not open unless you want it to. A team of raccoons couldn't even figure it out and they're smarter than half the people I know.
Effective animal trap

There isn't really any "assembly" required with this at all. It is already assembled but arrives in its collapsed form. All you need to do is unfold it, swing the attached "U" bar downwards into the 2 attached clips on the sides, and slide the back door locking bar through the back to prevent the back door from opening. The pictures in the directions are a bit hard to understand but apply a bit of common sense and it's extremely simple. I painted mine and used plasti-dip on the bottom. Trigger seems very sensitive so I think it could trap animals as small as squirrels, kittens, etc, and as large as cats, raccoons, opossums, smaller dogs, etc. Always put most of the bait behind the trigger plate so the animal will step on it. The cage is collapsible for travel/storage so don't expect it to support heavy objects being stacked on top of it while in its expanded form, but it does its job effectively: catching and holding small/medium sized animals safely.
Caught a many critter

This trap has worked out well, but the trip rod has been a bit tempermental. It comes out of place with the tripping plate and the door hook too easily. But it works well and it was a good value.
Does the job.

I bought this to trap a stray cat. It was fairly easy to assemble except for the fact that if you want it to stay open long enough to catch anything you need to bend the catch that holds the door more. Whatever you do don't even accidentally run your finger along any of the metal edges! The door slipped in my hand and cut right through my finger and part of my nail, no stitches but LOTS of blood. It did catch the trap savvy cat I was after though, so I would recommend it if you need to do any tnr work. The trip plate is sensitive enough that they can't just grab the bait and run, if they even brush against it the door closes.
