well-made WARM mitten in size XL!
Shopper 333✓ Verified Purchase•November 9, 2023
The media could not be loaded. This Snowdeer-brand mitten gets the job done. Well-made from durable materials, it should provide years of warm hands. My hands often are comfortable in size L gloves, but in this one, XL is roomy without being loose. Clearly they were carefully made around a model-hand very similar to my own: it fits my hand well, without excess space or materials, each finger tip close-but-not-touching the end of the mitten. See the video review for further details, as well as comparison with the Wasoto electric mitten.
In a non-heated mitten, it can be helpful if you want to warm your fingers by making a fist inside a roomy mitten; due to the inner-glove that is harder: I can just slip my fingers out of the finger-web-separator and make a fist. But with the heat on, I won't need to do that much, unless I am on an extended backcountry trip and want to conserve battery.
My primary use for these mittens is for my 30-min bicycle commute down to at least 20deg F. My Reynauds issue in my hands makes keeping them warm a priority; however, sweaty/clammy hands also is a problem for me, so I am still learning my personal signals of when to turn off the power before I overheat.
**teeny bonus for gifting: mine came in a very nice box (not simple corrugated cardboard) with a magnetic closure...reminds me of Apple-designed iPad boxes**

I got a size small and it fits perfectly on me. The batteries are lasting longer than I expected. I had a full charge, used it for 3 hours skiing on level 2-3, and was still able to use it walking to work and back this past week on level 1-2. It warms the outside of your hand down to your finger tips and it can get pretty warm depending on what you are doing and the weather. Subzero it is warm but keep in mind heat will escape due to breathability of the glove. There's a glove inside the mitten and the fabric is soft but not the softest. The outside glove has an extra pocket. The only downfall I have, is that the cords aren't long enough to cinch on your wrists when you take them off. So if you are on a lift and need to adjust your helmet it can't be attached to you when you take them off - but I think I can find some sort of bungee cord somewhere to fix this.
Also it'd be great to have other colors or designs other than the usual basic black!
Update - I'm going on my second season using these mittens and have gotten more complements and jealous looks mostly from other women. I tell them to go on Amazon! Anyway I love them and can't go anywhere without them. It's so cold on the way to work, then I have a 10 minute walk. I don't have to keep my hands in my pocket, just a few clicks on the buttons and the warmth just comes!

Effective for me

I have tried every product advertised to keep both hands and feet warm during outdoor winter activities, usually with limited success. I was skeptical because the mittens themselves seemed too thin to retain any heat the battery produced but these work well for me on the highest setting. This setting will run out the batteries quickly but I invested in a second set of batteries and just swap them out as needed. Would give five stars except my thumbs freeze. It says they warm thumbkin but not so I feel it. If they made a premium pair that cost twice as much that actually delivered warmth to the lonely and cold thumb I would gladly pay the price. Still they are a big enhancement for my outdoor life. I also have the socks. Making sure all of my batteries are charging every night is now part of my winter ritual. Happy to get off my disposable warmer addiction that seems worse for the environment and ruins your nails and cuticles with the nasty dust.
Great so far!

My wife wanted something warmer than regular mittens. We started with low cost battery packs to through in the mittens. Those were better than nothing but but an integrated system would be nicer for dexterity.
So we started looking at various electric mittens. Not sure how she would like them, we decided to start with SnowDeer as the price was reasonable for electric mittens that include a rechargeable battery. If they worked well but there were quality systems, then we would look at more expensive options from other companies.
They have kept her plenty warm even on cold days (single digits F/ - teens C) for a good amount of time. All day events would benefit from a spare battery if you want to run at levels higher than the low setting.
The work so well that she uses them for everyday wear for cold weather use from going to the store and other activities.
The system comes with a charger and USB A cable to special end for the battery to plug them in charge. This is nice since it will allow us to just use the cable with other USB chargers we have at home.
The cables in the mittens are holding up great so far. Their design is adequate but not like those nice braided USB cables that last for ever so I take great care installing and removing the batteries.
We liked the mittens enough to give their socks a try. They use the same battery packs so it seemed low risk as worst case we would end up with a second battery pack for the gloves.
