First off I'll say that I was sent the wrong flavor. I ordered watermelon but received orange. Not going to make a huge fuss as both flavors were the same price. I've never used any type of energy gel so I wasn't sure what to expect. As far as flavor goes its not bad. I like that it has just a little orange flavor so its not overpowering. Also there is next to zero aftertaste which is great. As far as an energy boost, you'll get a little boost but nothing serious. I usually take one just before I leave for a bike ride and then take one more half way through. The biggest downside of these is opening them. If your fingers are a little sweaty, good luck. And I don't know how anyone can open it and consume it while riding. I thought that was the big advantage to these was being able to refuel without stopping. All in all I'm happy with these gels and will most likely buy more in the near future.

These were a lot less than the Gu or Clif gels. They are not a thick but have comparable nutrition facts. They aren't too sweet but not as bland as Hammer.
