I've only had this bed for a couple of hours, so I may change my review later. Like all dogs Darwin deserves only the best. Darwin is an 8 year old Golden Retriever who weighs 82 pounds. I spent hours researching dog beds. I was willing to spend up to about 250.00 and in the end it was between this bed and the Casper bed. After looking at numerous Casper reviews I decided that the fabric didn't look all that much better, that the support was probably similar, and that the usable size of the Casper was just a bit to small. Also, Darwin tends to run hot and I appreciated the cooling feature of this bed.
I wanted an orthopedic bed (no cheap foam) that is firm enough to support him, but soft enough so he feels comfortable. This met that with flying colors. It is reminiscent of my expensive latex mattress topper.
I also did not want any of the velour/fuzzy fabric that most beds were made of. Dog hair just gets all over it and it doesn't seem as easy to clean. The sides of this are light grade upholstery, and the top of the mattress is similar to a bed sheet. I'm fine with the sides, but the top is not the sturdiest. I've already ordered a cooling pet blanket that I will tuck on top of the bed, so that will work fine.
Darwin immediately hopped on the bed and began vigorously scratching it. No damage at all. It does not smell (as some new foam does). It was very easy to put together - less than five minutes alone.
It isn't fully expanded yet, but Darwin already seems to like it.
I'll update my post later, but for now, I think that Darwin will be having sweet dreams in this bed

I couldn't believe I was spending this much on a dog bed! But looking in stores I couldn't find anything I thought would last any amount of time. We took in a Great Dane and he is dreaming all the time and sleeping so deep now. With all material being smooth I am comfortable with shaking it out and throwing it in the wash. Very happy with my purchase and so is Earl.

I waited to order this for prime days and the price went up for it. I ordered it anyway and you lost it in transit at your facility. So I had to wait to order it again until you decided it was lost. I ordered it again at that point and you lost it again. So I ordered it from Tractor Supply and they got it to me in 3 days for 25 bucks less.
It's a wonderful bed and I recommend it for older dogs with hip issues. Just don't order it from Amazon.

I have a spoiled senior pittie that tries to climb into bed with me every night. There is no such thing as too comfortable for her and her favorite thing is to bury herself in my pillows. Unfortunately for her, she's not allowed because her dander makes me miserably stuffy and she is a bed hog, neither of which bode well for me. I've spent years trying to convince her having her own bed is preferable to no avail, she turns her nose up to every orthopedic dog bed I've ever bought her. She begrudgingly slept on a memory foam topper I upcycled into a bed for her before this but she's a digger and eventually it couldn't hold up anymore. I ended up choosing this over the Casper bed because the price point is much more wallet friendly and her favorite mattress in the house happens to be a Sealy as well. I didn't end up using instructions, the whole setup was pretty self explanatory and it only took a few minutes for the mattress to expand. She knew immediately this was for her and the first photo is literal seconds after I got it put together. She usually has blankets and pillows but she seems to be enjoying this bed as is in the summer heat. The large has plenty of space for her to stretch out. She's tall for a staffy breed and ~65lbs. This is the first time she's ever been excited about having her own bed and I often find her dozing here rather than the couch or her old favorite comfy places.

My sister had this bed at her cabin and our dogs just LOVED it. So I got them one for home. I was surprised to find that the bolster edge around the top is a separate piece of foam (hence the four star Assembly and taking-apart-for-cleaning -- a bit challenging). I thought it would have been attached. Took some wrangling to get it all together and zipped up, but one person can handle it. My dogs absolutely adore this bed. Especially my soon-to-be 9 year old 90 pound boxer. His joints are definitely aging and the first night he snuggled in and was fast asleep. I got the extra large bed and this is PLENTY of room for the boxer. Should be good for a Great Dane as well (we used to have one). So far, so good. Appreciate the Sealy name. You can tell it is a quality product when the dogs get on it and it doesn't squish to the floor (even 90 pounds). Only thing I wish was different was the cover. It seems very thin, but we just put a blanket over it to protect it better. Easy peasy. Great price for this quality of bed.
