Pretty decent rowing machine. It is very quiet and gives a little swoosh sound that I enjoy. I just had it for a week and so far I enjoy using it a lot. I always want to go on it. This is my first rowing machine ever. Build quality was decent not bad at all. One little misaligned piece where the handle bars rest at but other than that no other issues.

One thing I do wish it had? Was a better dashboard. With more information on it. For $400 I think it should be doable. But I'm not mad. Like I said, it's my first machine. I usually put my iPad on the dashboard stand and watch YouTube rowing videos from Dark Horse's channel. It's all about rowing. So I follow along with the guy.

Assembly was easy, though one screw that holds the 2 sections of the base was missing. It seems to be fine with three of the four bolts. At the 2000 row mark the seat started making loud squeaking noises until it warmed up. At the 6000 row mark the seat started to stick. Not sure what to do about that since there is nothing in the instruction book about lubricating the rail. I did clean it, and that helped some. Overall, not a bad piece of equipment for the money, though I wish I had just saved up and got the Concept 2 if this sticking issue continues. I also saw on the JROTO website that the weight limit might be 220lbs and not the 300lbs listed on Amazon, so people might want to research that.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this rower. The rower comes packaged well and assembly time took me around 20 minutes. While the rower comes with a few included tools, I found using some of my own helped speed up the process. You'll have to flip the rower over a few times to get a few of the screws in, but it all goes together quite nicely. This is the first rowing machine I have ever owned, and am a little regretful I didn't purchase one sooner. The rowing motion is smooth during both the pull and relax phases and is surprisingly meditative during workouts. There's a rhythm to the actions that have made working out on this machine....enjoyable. The built in resistance varies from an easy stroke to what I'm guessing rowing against a strong current feels like. It'll make you sweat once you start going from levels 5-10. The seat and foot pedals are comfortable. I'm 5' 10" and there is plenty of room on the rail that allows me to fully extend my legs when I workout. There's a little bit of a squeak from the seat as I workout but nothing obtrusively loud. The digital display is very basic, but it does a good job of relaying calories burned, number of strokes, time spent rowing, etc. I cover the display with my phone as it has a phone holder and watch rowing videos on YouTube as I workout. The rower is stable enough that there's almost no wobble or shake (there are adjustable stabilizers built under the posts) and I feel pretty safe having my phone and a tablet on it while working out, though I added some Velcro to ensure the tablet stays on. I do wish the pull bar was about another inch or two longer on both sides, but it's not uncomfortable and the strap connecting it to the magnetic resistance wheel looks well made. I've only been using the rowing machine for a few weeks now, but I'm already starting to notice a drop in my weight. In my book, this was money well spent and I'd highly recommend it to others.

I already have chronic health conditions, using a rowing machine can be beneficial to help them in check. My physician also recommended that rowing machine is good aerobic work out from boosting my immune system to improve cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
As a first starting out rowing machine, I think how much space I have should determine whether I opt for a fixed or folding model. So it is important to check out that it will fit in my home. With special design, I can put this rowing machine in standing position for storage. For indoor use, it is more convenient.
Full-body, low-compact work out:
When I sit down at the rowing machine, muscles worked primarily include my back, my shoulders and the pulling muscles in my arms, along with my hip, thighs and even a bit of help from my calves as I push away from the foot platform.
Magnetic resistance:
This rowing machine has magnetic brakes that provide the resistance as I row, I feel an extremely smooth motion and I can adjust resistance level as well. Just to remember that it is best to keep your back straight, your core engaged and to row in a smooth, fluid motion.
Noise level:
A rowing machine is bound to make some noise during operation, but this magnetic resistance rowing machine is quiet. So it is ideal when I watch tv or listen to music as I work out.
It is good idea to purchase a rowing machine with a monitor that tracks speed, time, distance and calories burned to keep track of my progress.
I am feeling so good that hopping on my rowing machine and so comfortable to use for work out routine.

I had a rowing machine before this one. It was twice as expensive and was so noisy and difficult to use, I used it very little and sold it after a couple of years. I was very hesitant to purchase this machine since the last one was so poor. I ended up purchasing it for myself and gave home rowing one last shot. I have been addicted to the machine. It stands up in the corner of my room easily and I just lower the sliding end and start rowing when I want. The machine is so quiet, my family doesn't even know I'm using it until they see me in the room rowing away. I use headphones and watch Netflix shows while rowing and I don't need to turn the volume up to compensate for the ambient noise. I love this machine and would give it a strong recommendation. Even out of the box took me 15 minutes to set up without needing to follow the instructions. Anyone can set this up, start rowing and continue with a great exercise routine for a long time.
