Heater doesn’t work

I'd substitute the whole water heating thing with a heating mat like the ones for reptiles. I understand the water method keeps the temp longer but the heater didn't even work. I substituted it with two reptile heating mats and used the water bucket as an additional fruiting chamber instead. The timer is also incredibly hard to use if you're a novice. Even to a smart person it's hard to make sense of it. Plus it would be nice to have two on a power strip so you can have one to run the light and another for the air pump

Most of the negative reviews I have seen on this product have very little to do with the supplier of this kit. I verified the contents of the package are correct and no missing items. They wrapped the substrate in bubble wrap and sealed the package well. Box was in tact and none of the contents were broken. The instructions are easy to understand, however, I recommend purchasing The Mushroom Bible ahead of time. The box it ships in can function as your "still air" box and very little supplies are needed extra. I'd recommend maybe purchasing some tyvek material, gloves, alcohol wipes, Isopropyl Alcohol and mixing a 10% Bleach & Water mixture in a spray bottle prior to unpacking. Make sure to Disinfect and keep the jars in a dark place. Substrate looks good with no mycelium growth out of package. I am happy with this package and was a little nervous after purchasing.

I started with my jars, out of the 12 only one failed to colonize and went bad. The other 11 went flawlessly. I'm currently fruiting my mushrooms, the only complaint so far is the the battery powered grow light was missing. But i didn't realize this until months after the fact so double check when you get everything if you are going to wait to set up your fruiting container. Otherwise they sourced everything and sent two free instruction kits that were decent grow books for beginners if you don't know what your doing, and did the small modification to the chamber for you. It is worth the money and I'd highly recommend.
