I like the bay, it's good when it's working but I bought it in June 2023 and it's November 2023 and it's having connection issues I contacted Amazon and they contacted the manufacturer and the manufacturer doesn't want to exchange it but they say it's over 30 days. So if you buy this, just keep in mind if have it for more than 30 days and something goes wrong with it, the manufacturer won't help you. By the way, I emailed the manufacturer a week ago and I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
works for me. I like it

I put 4 enterprise drives in this device and my average speed non-raid is 230MB/s.
I can use the 4 red switches in back of unit to turn on or off the 4 drives, so I only turn on the drives I'm using (to save wear and tear on drives I'm not using. Nice feature.
I use crystalDisk INFO to monitor the temp of drive, and give current smart data.
I live in central florida and it can get very hot outside. If I am planning to leave this device on for many hours I will place one of my 9 inch Honeywell fans on device to keep temps down.
I use a smartplug to turn on and off the device, as long as power button is pressed in. Works great.
update: If you are just transfering small amounts of data, you are fine. BUT if you are transferring hugh amounts of data (like 6TB) at one time, and are using 7200 enterprise drives, watch the temps. And I advise doing it when you monitor the drives, and use bigger fan pointed at device. I did this overnight with 9 inch honeywell fan and the temps got super hot! I will NEVER transfer that much again without me watching the transfer, to make sure drives are in safe zone. I do live in florida, and my room was about 90 degrees . If you look at some reviews I'm not sure those people kept a close eye on the temps. Hope that this WARNING helps you. I love this device, and 99 percent of the time, I just transfer small amounts of data, and temp is in safe zone. My hard drives smart data is fine after super hot data transfer, BUT that will NEVER happen again, I learned my lesson.

Syba, this is an absolutely fantastic product. And it works incredibly!
If you fix the details and contradicting information in the item descriptions of your product page, you will attract many more customers to purchase this product.
I suggest this feedback sincerely, because I understand that the contradictions with the description are not careless mistakes, but mistakes made because English is not the writer's primary language.
The max storage capacity for each bay has different numeric values in several places on the product page, and it's confusing potential buyers.
Buyers, I can attest that this adequately runs 8 separate 18TB 3.5'' HDDs, for a total of 144TB of maximum storage. That being said, for the price this product can become a strong competitor for other much higher priced DAS and NAS solutions, as someone could buy a mini-pc to use as a server that syncs and serves the data in the enclosure, and they'd still spend a lot less than the big name storage solutions, and have a more powerful CPU and more RAM to sync and serve the data and perform other helpful functions.

Great little box. Perfect for all those spare hard drives I had lying around

I've accumulated probably a dozen hard drives over the years and I never knew what to do with them. I had a dock that I could swap them in and out of, but that was tedious and I was always worried about damaging the drives and storing them properly.
This enclosure has cleaned up nearly all of them and consolidated everything into one place with a power cable and a data cable. I love how each drive can be toggled on or off as I need it. I keep one drive running at all times for backup purposes and the others I turn off and on, depending on what I need them for.
I did end up swapping out the data cable for a USB-B 3.1 to USB-C cable to make it work better with my CalDigit TS4 dock, but that was more of an issue with the dock than it was the enclosure.Everything connects great now I can have all the storage space I need without a mess of cables and a stack of loose hard drives. Definitely recommend.

I have now 4 8 bay 2 4 bay 1 5 bay!
Out of all my favorite is the 8 bay you can individually turn each bay off!
The 4 an 5 bay if you remove or insert a drive it drops any other drive in the bay just to find the one inserted!
This is a newer 8 bay witch is becoming my favorite when you turn on the master power switch if the other bays are off they do not turn on my first 3 if you turn off master switch then turn it back on all 8 bays power on the new one does not!
The hardest thing to find is the trays for these things to buy separately I guess I just need to get rid of some of my older drives! LOL
I uses 3 of these on my Mini PC's witch work real well with USB3.0+ since they do not have room for the old large hard drives
Love these things!
