This product works fine. I used it to watch a dvd. The problems were that it sometimes got jostled and went to the beginning of the dvd; also, it couldn't read the small disc for driver software I had. I'm not sure if that's a flaw with the disc or it, but to be safe I'm giving a 4 star rating. The product was plug-and-play for my windows 10 for the most part. It also works with XP, 2003, 7, 8, 8.1, and Vista as far as windows, plus Linux and Mac 10 OS, supposedly. However, I had to do a bit of work to get it to play the movie. It has a disclaimer in the notes about the DVD player for apple not working with their drive: that you will have to install freeware for. Also, it doesn't do well with magnets either, according to the paper that comes with it. It has a disclaimer about putting it on a flat surface as well, but that's impossible for me personally. I don't have a flat desktop top, I have a laptop.

I don't use this often, but it worked when I managed to get it open. It needs to be opened by the computer's software, not manually, which is impossible and irritating, but for what I paid, I can't really complain. At least is is white and not boring old black. Having severely impaired vision, black things get visually lost, so white equipment is really quite important to me. I will be using it more as I lose vision to play talking books.

Getting harder to find computers that come with disc readers.
Replaced my mom's pc recently and no disc reader. She has tons of stuff on disc.
This was a cheap alternative.
Being probably made for laptops, the cord is a bit short.

The first thing you notice when you hold the box is its weight. At just 20 odd dollars, you expect it to feel a bit cheaper, lighter, and more plastic-ish. Out of the box, the build quality is high and the drive plugs right into a desk to where it's read immediately with no software. It's a nice product to have in an age where optical drives are becoming increasingly less common in PC cases and laptops. The drive is surprisingly quiet compared to to the LG drive that died on me a month ago, and just as quick burning CDs/DVDs
What I don't like is sort of nitpicky only because they are things adapters can solve or are just surface issues. The box came with a dent right in the center, as shown on the picture, I won't blame the company as this could've easily happened in shipping.
The USB 3.0 cable is a bit short and awkwardly placed, as it forces you to turn the device to the side which isn't always convenient. It would've been nice to see a USB-C cable option, too.
Overall, I would highly recommend this.

This DVD/CD player/recorder works great. However, the USB cord is only about 8 inches long and we cannot connect a USB extension. The extension causes it not to load at all. It just continuously reads the CD. Other than this, it's perfect in today's world of no DVD/CD player on PCs or laptops.
