A Reliable Companion for College
Nasir✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 17, 2023
I recently acquired the 18-inch blue rolling backpack, having initially purchased the 17-inch variant but finding it slightly too small for my needs.

Size Matters:
First and foremost, the size upgrade from 17 to 18 inches was a wise choice. The extra inch makes a noticeable difference in storage capacity, allowing me to carry my essentials and more comfortably. It's roomy without being unwieldy, striking a great balance for daily use. (I am currently carrying 2 textbooks, 2 books, 3 folders, 2 notebooks, an 18 inch laptop, big charger, and more)

Durability on the Move:
Living in Florida, I'm often on the move, averaging about 7k-8k steps daily with this backpack in tow. The zippers are of good quality and haven't shown any signs of wear or tear, despite regular use.

Weatherproof Warrior:
Florida's weather can be quite unforgiving, with rain and scorching heat being constants. This rolling backpack has proven its mettle in these conditions. The fabric is water-resistant, protecting my belongings during sudden downpours. Furthermore, it hasn't shown any signs of heat-induced damage, a testament to its resilience in the Florida sun. (Intently rolling the rolling in the rain) [DO NOT RECOMMEND]

In conclusion, the 18-inch rolling backpack has been a reliable companion for my daily adventures in Florida. It offers ample space, durability to withstand daily wear and tear, and the ability to combat Florida's unpredictable weather. If you're in need of a versatile backpack that can handle the Sunshine State's challenges, this one certainly fits the bill.

Very sturdy and saved my back

Back in college I had a classes that required multiple books for each one and had my laptop too, because parking was far away I couldn't always switch out in between classes so I carried them all with me. My back was killing me and I couldn't find a book bag big enough. Found this and decided to give it a shot, worst case I could always return it for a refund but I was very surprised. It held all my books and had a space for my laptop, although I didn't use it because the laptop sleeve is in the very back and I was scared that if it fell over on its bacn the books would damage the laptop because they were big and heavy. It has multiple pockets and can be rolled behind you but also has straps that are tucked into the back pad that clip at the bottom so it can be worn as a normal backpack. It has a sturdy handle (not the one you use to pull it behind you) up top too so if you need to go up stairs or a step you can grab it and go. Its lasted a loong time and now i use it for light traveling or work. My only complaint is that I wish the pull behind handle was longer. I would find that it would sometimes catch on the back of my feet. Also I wish the wheels were rubber instead of plastic because they can be loud. I actually changed mine out for roller blade wheels and it made a big difference in drag and noise.
Solid travel bag

I travel around Europe. I always bring only a backpack for easy transportation and sometimes i end up in a buildings without a elevator, so backpacks are the way to go. Only thing that sucks is being stuck in an airport and having to carry the thing everywhere.

Here came my solution. 3 1/2 weeks and it worked wonderfully. It carried one swimsuit, 5 dresses, 3 pairs of shorts, and 5 tops. It carried more than that (chargers, extra pair of shoes, etc). Ladies, you get the idea. I even went shopping and was able to squeeze everything in.

The backpack itself is nice quality. The wheels and everything worked fine. I liked how I could tuck the straps away when not it use.

Never had a problem flying with it. I took multiple flights, some small, packed to the brim planes and never had a problem.

Cons:
-no compression straps. as much as a love this bag, I wouldn't purchase again, at least not for big trips. (Would be a great weekender bag or for a day trip) I need compression straps. My last backpack had it and it's a game changer. Not just to hold clothes in place, but to make the bag overall smaller.

- doesn't open like a suitcase. You don't realize it until you don't have it, but when I'm traveling I won't to plop open my bag and see everything. You can't with this, so I had to take everything out which made me crazy.

Overall I'd say a great bag and worth the money. There's of course a few things to consider, but I think this bag would be awesome for a lot of people.
Great rolling backpack!

Perfect size for 10-12 year old going on a two week trip. Used packing cubes with it and it held 5-6 tops/pants and 2 hoodies easily with room to spare for souvenirs. It was great to have the rolling option for him when walking to hotels, etc in the UK and when walking in the airport and then when other people had to check their rolling bags for our flight home, he just slipped it on as a backpack and walked right on the plane. Held up great. Only tiny complaint is that it opens from the top like a backpack instead of the side like luggage. Still highly recommend and I will probably use it myself on occasion for shorter trips since it wouldn't hold as many adult clothes.
Incredibly sturdy and very spacious

I bought this bag for my college nursing bookload. In the past, I've also tended to carry in my school bags everything that I could ever conceivably need for any situation"”this has been an issue on my back in the past, so a rolling backpack especially was important to me to get for that reason as well. I had bought another rolling backpack on Amazon before for a similar price, but it didn't have as many pockets as it first appeared, and the ones it did competed with the other pockets around it for space, so if you used one pocket then the rest would be inaccessible. With one minor exception, every pocket in this bag does not have this issue. There are a very large number of pockets in this bag, especially in the forward compartments, but there are still enough in the main compartment that I can keep my soft books, papers, and hard books all separate from one other. Even when it's cramped to capacity, the zipper holding the compartment together doesn't feel at any structural risk.

The rod that runs through the back of the bag and into the handle is not separated from the main compartment's back by anything but a somewhat thin material, and you can feel through to it with a hand. There's a soft and thin styrofoam lining that helps keep it from jutting against the rest of what you might store in the main compartment, but the cloth separating back can be opened to put more stuffing there if you're worried about it. Putting more in there to buffer around the rod and make sure it doesn't push against your things shouldn't decrease space by much of anything. I haven't done anything with it yet, as the styrofoam lining is effective enough for me.

The handle itself is a little bit testy sometimes when you try to push it back down, but that feels like such a nitpick compared to everything else the bag does well. It's surprisingly light on its own, and its backpack straps fold up extremely, extremely neatly so that you don't have to deal with fighting them ever. They attach to the bottom of the bag by a stable hook when you want to use them, and they can detach to tuck away tightly and completely when you're done with them. There's no having to feed them through straps and adjusting and readjusting them each time you want to put them on. I only switch this to be a backpack on my back when I'm trudging through snow for up to fifteen minutes, but I don't find getting it together very difficult. It's not comfortable when worn that way, but this bag has the most effective design I can think of for backpack straps on what should generally be a rolling backpack.

It has two bottle holders on each side of the bag which are made out of cloth on the bottom with more mesh towards the top. They're very sturdy, and so far I haven't had issues with putting water bottles in either one, so long as it doesn't have a really weirdly large base. I'm not afraid of this part of the bag breaking over time: it's not flimsy at all.

Another small thing about the extended handle is that it's surprisingly not uncomfortable to use as someone who's 5'3", but there's a lot of room that I think that someone much taller than me wouldn't be uncomfortable at all using it. I'm on the very shorter end of comfortable use.

The bag is capable of handling water (or, well, melted fallen snow, from where I'm from) to an extent, but I don't think you could throw it in a pool. It's just the kind of water resistant that you would hope to expect from a good backpack, where it can handle the elements to a reasonable (but not magical) extent.

I jam this thing full of stuff. Occasionally, I have to put it in a tall and narrow school locker. It fits in perfectly neatly, and I don't have to fight to pull it out. It kind of shocked me when I first saw it manage that.

Given its surprising quality, I would struggle to justify buying a different bag at this price point. I can't think of any particular issues other than what I mentioned further up. I don't really post reviews, but I feel obligated to post one to glow about this backpack because it's been just so reliable. I'll return to this review in a few months to update it based on how the backpack holds up over time.
