I ordered this aluminum screen to replace the disintegrated plastic screens on the exterior 4" hooded vents of my home. I was able to easily trim the screen down to size using tin snips, fit it into place, and secured using tie wraps. It was the perfect solution for my problem since I could only purchase the entire vent unit in the hardware store for about $17 per unit. I have 5 exterior vents and it would have cost close to $100 to replace them. This was a more affordable option and worked perfectly.
