Kids love them

I feel like I have already written a review, but Amazon is prompting me to write one.... These are adorable & my kids love them for bath time and in general. The color change aspect is well executed & keeps my kids occupied going from hot to cold and so forth. I think we have three of this version & only a few repeats ( the ones not in the shell are repeated - I think only four to collect and each carton had two).
It's completely hit or miss how many "special" eggs you get, but you definitely get more than one. I can't remember which color, but one of the eggs only has a color change on the accessory (e.g. surfboard) so the snimal doesn't change which is a bummer, but I am pretty sure every hatchimal fits on it, so that's a positive. My girls were unamused by the "gold one" which is the baby version & color changes by being dirty (one teeny tiny dirt spot). Also another version only color changes a small portion of the body ( we got one with a diving helmet & only the feet changed). I will try to update with the color codes ....
I personally open the carton & give the eggs out one by one, but my kids are happy either way! I would definitely recommend!
