Key features

  • PUR FAUCET WATER FILTER: PUR Faucet Filter in Grey attaches to your sink faucet, for easy, quick access to cleaner, great-tasting filtered water. An LED indicator displays the filter status, so you know when it needs a replacement.
  • FAUCET WATER FILTER: PUR's faucet filters are certified to reduce over 70 contaminants, including 99% of lead, so you know you're drinking cleaner water. They provide 100 gallons of filtration, or 2-3 months of typical use, before you need a replacement.
  • WHY FILTER WATER? Home tap water may look clean, but may contain potentially harmful pollutants & contaminants picked up on its journey through old pipes. PUR water filters, faucet filtration systems & water filter pitchers reduce these contaminants.

I Can Trust Pur

I made the mistake of using a generic filter in my Pur faucet filter. Ever since putting the generic filter in the whole thing leaked. So I ordered another Pur filter system. I love the ease of install. And the filtered water tastes great. If I had to say anything negative I would say the filtered water comes out too slow. But that means the system is really filtering the water. I am very picky when it comes to water filters. And this Pur system works great for me.

I have been buying Pur water faucet mount filtration units for years as needed and this is the best deal I have ever seen. The filters usually run about $15 each and this whole unit was that price! I personally don't care for the grey color and prefer black, but a color preference wasn't worth another $10+ to me.

The filtered water still comes out at a slower speed, but that's to be expected for it to go through the process of being filtered. The filtered water tastes great and is definitely worth the extra couple of minutes that it takes.

It's really easy to install and use. I didn't need any tools and it only took a few minutes to put the faucet attachment on and then to connect the unit to that. For 1st time filter usage, they tell you to run water through it for 5 minutes to flush out dust particles and such.

For filtered water, just flip the lever and wait for the unit to flash green 3 times to let you know when the filter is ready. It came with different faucet attachment mounts, instructions in multiple languages, a filter and the unit itself.

I'm very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to save some money from not having to buy filtered water. ðŸ˜ðŸ‘
Water quality much improved from tap but feels fragile

Water went from reeking of chlorine to being completely tasteless. Filter works great. Only thing I would say is that the filtered water comes out pretty slow, and the filter doesn't quite clip on. I used the attachment in the box, and I assumed that the filter would screw on to it, but it doesn't. There's just a plastic piece on the inside that clips on to your faucet, so it wobbles every time you touch it.
Pretty good in-sink filter, but a little bulky size

My house has lead pipes and a very high level of chlorine from the water treatment plant in the water. The lead is fine (so far) but the chlorine makes it taste like I'm drinking from a swimming pool. I got this to alleviate the chlorine issue and to avoid any future problems that may arise from an old house with lead pipes, and it did it perfectly. Great filter, refill filter cartridges can be found in almost any department/grocery store, decent price, and the water actually tastes good and correct right out of the filter.

This does what it says: reduces several dangerous chemicals and toxins in your water and then puts some basic minerals back in to improve the taste instead of just giving you absolutely pure water (which has zero flavor and many people don't like it). It is also very easy to install (usually no tools required). The only down-side here is that it is quite bulky and it is not designed to fit faucets where the nozzle is at an angle; it will work at up to 45 degree slope on your faucet pipe but it will be sitting oddly and it may splash water over the edge of your sink onto the floor. It really is designed for faucets where the pipe is 0 degrees (vertical) for the last two or three inches at least.

Here are some things to be aware of before you buy:

1. Filters are designed to last up to 3 months or 100 gallons, whichever comes first. It has an indicator light that tells you when it is time to change the filter. You "can" use it for about 4 months if you don't use a whole lot of filtered water, but eventually you will need to change the filter or the contaminants will get through it and into your drinking glass. Filters are cheap and easy to find so change them when the light turns red.
2. It has a switch so you can either get unfiltered water in a thick stream bypassing the filter, or filtered water in a thin but strong stream which will use up "time" on your indicator light. So for instance you can turn the filter on for drinking water, brushing your teeth, etc. and then turn it off for things like washing dishes or washing your hands.
3. It is very bulky, designed for faucets that point STRAIGHT DOWN for at least a few inches before the end of the faucet. You also will need almost a foot of open space to one side or in front of the faucet because the filter unit clips onto the bottom of the faucet nozzle but then the main filter stands parallel to the faucet. It is almost a foot tall, too, but it only adds about two inches to the end of the faucet - the rest of the height goes upward beside the faucet. Look at the main pics on the item's description and you should see how it attaches. Now imagine if your sink nozzle pointed at an angle instead of downward... like my bathroom sink does... not the best fit for that type of faucet.
4. Although it will lock onto the faucet to gravity won't pull it down, there is no lateral lock so it will be able to spin freely around the faucet, you can move it side to side if it is in the way. Because of this though, it is not meant to be installed on faucets that point at any sideways angle - only those that point straight down or close to it.
5. Installation is simple, it comes with four sets of screw-in nozzles that replaces the aerator at the end of your faucet, then the filter unit just clips onto the new nozzle. The hardest part is actually unscrewing your old aerator, sometimes they are on too tight so you may need a wrench to loosen it but it should all be just finger-tight.
6. Whenever installing a new filter, run the water with the new filter in for 5-10 minutes before you use it. This clears out any charcoal particles small enough to get through the filter while also allowing the filter matrix to become saturated with water so that it actually works the way it is supposed to.
7. If you haven't used the water for about an hour (up to about 36 hours) let it run for about 10 seconds before you use the water for drinking or whatever, just to clear any standing junk out. If it has been longer than a day and a half, run it for 5 minutes again to re-wet the filter because it may have dried out.
8. Gravity is a real thing, so after you shut off the water the filter might still drip for a few seconds. This usually isn't a "problem" but something to be aware of - that drip is just gravity not a leaky seal, it should stop after a few seconds.
Immediate flavor improvement

My apartment building recently replaced some of the plumbing and the water started to taste like cedar on top of the usual chlorine flavor. Boiling doesn't get rid of dissolved solids so I looked into filtration. I have friends with Brita pitchers but they take forever to fill so it had to be a faucet filter. Obviously the filter reduces water flow but it's not so slow that it is annoying. If it only lasts a couple of months it will have been worth the purchase.

My one gripe is that it is sort of bulky and awkward to use in my sink. I make do but if I had even a slightly smaller sink I would have to fill up my kettle one glass at a time.
