Rare item, mostly good experience

So I have an induction oven and I don't want the glass to be scratched to heck... so this is a rare, good solution. The item has a good concept, but I don't know if it's the nature of the beast or what, but it can't get too hot... one time it sparked and almost got too hot (maybe caught on fire!?!)... so I watch it when I use high heat. Otherwise, I love the idea of it and I bought extras for when the first set get worn out. There aren't many other ideas for protecting glass induction ovens, so I am happy with this item!
Prevented induction on new GE cooktop, this worthless

EDITED REVIEW: Turns out induction cooktops (mine at least) locate the burner sensors in the center of the burner area. This fact matters because most induction-capable cookware sets place a non-magnetic area in the center of the pan's induction plate, almost always a disk with the maker's brand logo stamped upon it. What this does is weaken the cooktop's ability to detect the magnetic pan placed on the burner. The result has been to make cookware unreliable and unable to connect consistently, especially when these silicon pads are used, adding a little more distance between pan and sensor. HOWEVER, when I use iron cookware or cookware like Green Pan and some few others that don't put a non-magnetic aluminum logo in their pan centers, the connection is strong and these silicone pads work very well.
These look okay and seem durable. However, they appear to be too thick. My new GE induction cooktop did not work with this pad under the pan. Once I removed it and placed the pan directly on the glass, everything works fine.

Great for protecting induction cooktops. Get dirty after a while.

When we were rehabbing our kitchen, my wife found us a ridiculous deal on a fancy double-oven induction range (GE Cafe). It's a great piece of equipment (never want to go back from induction) and I wanted to protect the surface from scratches and stains. This product looked like the answer. I got just one large one, because it's the big burner that sees the most action and gets the large cast-iron skillet we use constantly.
It works. We've had no problems related to heat -- no scorching or curling or anything. They have kept the stove surface pristine, except for once when when someone decided not to use it, which left a couple of baked-on stains we're still working to remove. So ... use it!
As for durability, these are quite tough, but do pick up stains. You can scrub them or put them in the dishwasher, but eventually they take on a "food brown" color that won't come off, so they don't look as nice sitting on the stove. They're not easy to damage, and we only managed once when it was sitting on the countertop and someone nicked it with a pair of scissors (don't use it as a cutting board).
We're on our third one, and plan to keep using these. I do wish they didn't pick up stains or cost a bit less, so I'm deducting one star. Otherwise they're great, and I haven't seen anything else designed to do this exact job.
Four decent, hardworking stars

If you have an induction cooktop, you need these!

I have had these since I bought my induction cooktop stove, three years now and it still looks like brand new. Your pans never touch the glass surface so there's not a single scratch!
must have for induction range/cooktop

I bought one large and 2 medium for my GE Cafe range 2.5 yrs ago (before it even arrived) knowing that I would need to protect the surface. What I didn't realize was that the mats also are useful to "see" the burner's position. Having the pot centered on the mag element is important to effectiveness. My only gripe is that the white part of the mats has become discolored with what appears to be baked on oil/food. Dishwasher didn't budge it at all. It's not actual discoloration of the pad itself as some have assumed because we primarily use one side up and the opposite side is much, much less discolored.
