Wow! Let me start by saying I was looking for something that would start up quickly and assist me in everyday tasks for a counseling practice. I have been blown away by this computer for its ease. If you are a gmail user, this is all you could ever want. If you're looking for something that will power up in less than ten seconds and rarely needs updates, you absolutely need this pc. While not for storage or major downloads, I found this to have everything I need: docs for writing documents, sheets for excel, and the list goes on. The only down side to this computer is that you must be connected to the internet to use most of the features . You can still use stationary items like calculator or access files but you will not be able to access docs or many of the other icons without internet. Overall, I'm in love. Speakers are LOUD! And even has a webcam!

I am so happy with my purchase! I love this laptop. I have a MacBook Pro that I use as my 'home' computer, and I use this one as my 'travel' computer. I take this one with me on vacation, to coffee shops, friends houses, etc. This laptop is fast, easy to use, and holds a charge for a long time, and the price is fantastic. There's not a whole lot of storage space on it, but for internet browsing and streaming, it is perfect. Plus, for any papers or pictures or anything, you can always use google docs or slides. I am very happy with this purchase and love this laptop!

This is a cute little laptop, 14" diagonal, just wide-screeny enough not to feel tiny but doesn't feel gigantic either. I have the white version; it looks like someone 3D printed this thing and didn't color it in. That stuff doesn't matter. Here are some things I've noticed. I will add more as I get more use out of this thing.

1. Super lite. This is the main reason I got a Chromebook. I needed something that started quickly, was light, easy, and fast. I have a different laptop for more heavy lifting and processing. This works great for what I want: easy browsing and blogging abilities. It doesn't have any junk on it, no antivirals (not needed), extraneous programs, etc, etc. If you're wanting something that can boot up MS Office or otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.
2. It's a bit warm. I'm sure I'll appreciate this more in the more wintry months. Even within minutes of starting up, the bottom of this thing is... cozy. It hasn't heated up MORE, but it's definitely got some heat.
3. The keys on the keyboard is a little wide as far as spacing. I'll get used to it.
4. Video quality isn't great. If you plan to use this as your video-watching device, I'd go for something else. Things don't look like great HD quality.
5. Sound is pretty good without external speakers. It won't get super loud but the quality itself is fine.
6. Had some issue with the screen blinking off and on on certain websites. Haven't gotten to the root of this yet so I won't blame the Chromebook itself but maybe something to do with the OS.

Overall, 4 stars for giving me what I need.

This is so far the best priced chrome book that I have purchased. I'm not an expert on these things and as a matter of fact as much as I love electronic gadgets we clash like oil and water. So bearing that in mind and strictly in my opinion I give it 5 stars because it is "simply" easy to use, yet it has the appearance of a high dollar device, if your into that, it fits in well anywhere you go. Thanks to hp for putting together a wonderful gadget!

We love Chromebooks and ours got to the point where they were no longer supported or the software upgraded...so it was time to pick out some new ones. I did a lot of research and study on the different types and whether they were touch-screen or a tablet/laptop configuration etc, etc,
Then I went to C-Net and checked out the reviews and finally decided on the HP Chromebook. It is durable for mine and my wife's use and light enough to keep handy without having to constantly put it in a sleeve or carrying case.
