I bought a portable air conditioner that has an exaust hose routed through my living room window. I was worried about bugs crawling into it so I ordered this screen mesh, cut it into a circle that fit the diameter of the exaust hose and mounted it. Lets the hot air out and insects can't get in, worked great. I also have a surplus of screen in case I need to patch a window screen or something. There's other things one could use this for, like maybe cut it into a circle small enough to fit inside your sink drain to catch food scrap while rinsing off dishes, etc.

I didn't look to see if they came in a larger or longer dimension. However, I was able to cut and trim/ use two at a time in order to fit my outside air vents. Sturdy enough to keep out small rodents, yet pliable enough to work around electrical cords, etc.
