These shapewear shorts provide a great seamless look under tight dresses. The edges are thin enough to be invisible. These are thin, so they don't suck you in that much, but I just got them for when I don't want a thong showing under a tight dress but don't want to go commando either.

I like these under bodycon dresses. I don't want compression, just smooth lines. I am normally between small and medium with hips 38' and waist 28'. I would agree with a lot of other reviews that the legs would ride up if you buy your own size. The legs are snug and the waist is a bit too large but it is fine for what I need.
Shapewear? No. Thigh Protection? Yes.

I am 5'9" and on the heavy side. I rarely wear skirts or dresses because of thigh friction. I ordered the 3xl because I wanted more fabric coverage, but I do think the 2xl would have fit (but wouldn't have been quite as long on the legs). I wouldn't call this shapewear because it does not tuck or hold anything in place, as far as I'm concerned. Plus, the waistline can be visible (similar to pantyhose waistline at times) depending on what you wear. However, for comfort, hands down this is perfect. Lightweight, soft, and protected my thighs from chub rub. I appreciated that and am able to wear summer skirts and dresses. If you are looking for any fitted control, I wouldn't recommend. Otherwise, great product. I have both the black and the white.

I normally wear a small. I originally ordered medium. I was looking for something to prevent thigh rub and modesty under dresses, but not looking for shape wear. I don't like it too tight. The medium fit but was tight. Also, because it was tight, it made a zipper sound when walking/tight fabric rubbing. I ordered the large. They are a bit loose but they are not tight and do not make the zipper sound when I walk. They ride up a bit bc they are a bit too big for me, doesn't bother me too much tho bc it's not tight. The fabric is butter soft.
