What's not to like about a fully automatic turntable?
Enrique L✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 7, 2023
The media could not be loaded. As many others have stated, this turntable is the bees knees. You set a record onto the turntable, press start, the turntable begins to spin, the tone arm lifts and moves to the appropriate starting position, gently let's itself down and the music begins. When playback has finished, the tone arm lifts, glides back to the starting position, lowers itself onto it's resting bracket and the turntable stops. There's also a button that allows you to lift the tone arm while the record remains spinning, so that you can move and lower it down to a position on the record of your choosing, like say you're looking for that sweet song in particular, or a cool part in a song. (like my video clip here for example, song is called Inamorata, off Metallica's 72 seasons!) Lars if you see this, don't come after me for copyright infringement okay! Lol. Anyways, This table really spoils you like it loves you and won't let you do any of the work! I love you too!

Okay, onto a concern you will go on to have once you order this bad boy. You'll need to pair it with speakers. I've included a clip here with presonus eris e3.5s & the presonus eris sub8 (subwoofer). The sound is full and warm, clear highs, full warm lows, and for me at least, this is my bedroom set up and I absolutely love it.

Note: I watched comparison videos on YouTube on presonus eris e3.5s vs 4.5s (there's also size 5.25 I believe) but 5s were out of the question as it was going to be overkill lol. The 4.5s were a bit muddy, while the 3.5s were crystal clear! If you like that, then these are it! I knew I wanted to pair them with a sub so I wouldn't complain about any lacking bass on the 3.5s. And besides, unless you're listening to a lot of EDM, dubstep or techno stuff, even the 3.5s suffice for the more typical music. They are good on their own. But let's not kid around, a subwoofer makes everything better. Everybody knows that!
Good turntable, but could use a better set-up guide.

Once I got it working, this has been a terrific basic turntable. Very easy to use, and sounds very good. My complaint is that it's far too easy to make errors in the set-up process. The "quick set-up guide" in the box doesn't properly show how to set-up the belt. It's easy to do it wrong. I ended up having to trouble-shoot it on the Audio-Technics online site. That step should not be necessary. Nevertheless, I would recommend this turntable.
Every beginner needs this!

It's very straight forward to use and setup. It's exactly what you want if you're just getting into this format of music listening. For beginners, be careful when uncovering the needle's cover. When I removed mine the needle came off with the cover and it took me a bit to figure out how to put it back on. If it does come off, it's supposed to since you can swap out pieces. Just do your best to put it back in and play your least favorite record you bought with this to make sure you put it on right.

The media could not be loaded. It works great! I had trouble with it which is why I took one star off. I tried hooking up the speaker with their aux cable that was include. Which is completely useless because it won't play sound from it. If you're buying a speaker and it comes with an aux cable use the speaker's aux cable not the Audio- technica's. Or else it won't play any sound. It literally looks the same but I guess it makes a difference. I think the speaker that I used pairs good with it so if you would like to try it's on my profile list! Otherwise I'm happy with my purchase💕
Really easy to set up, operate, light weight, low profile

This is replacing a very old Bang & Olufson tangential tracking turntable that had finally gone kaput after years of keeping it going. I just wanted a cheap, simple, automatic turntable with lowish profile and smallish footprint to play LPs and 7' singles at 33, 45 rpm, with simple switching between the two sizes/speeds and no messing around with belt position as on pricey turntables. This does the job beautifully. Analog plugs from 3.5 mm jack plug in back of turntable for output to amplifier, no extra lead to reduce buzzing/humming noises - no need for one. It even has a nice little recess for the 45 adaptor (included) for when the center's been removed from a single - brilliant!

I haven't experimented with whether it needs a pre-amp, or not - it depends upon which amp you're using and they're cheap enough to buy if you need one; and I haven't attempted direct recording to other media formats - I have $2000 player and old CD recorder/player set up for that so I can make my own CDs. I'm not into music on computers, digital downloads or all the awful modern crap from last 20 years.

OK, sound isn't on the same level as a $1000+ hi-fi turntable, with all the 20lb weight, leveling, and the rest, but it is adequate for my needs.

Would make a very nice starter turntable for a teenager who's maybe discovering what vinyl was all about 50, 60 years ago and spinning grand-dad's old records, or buying new ones since vinyl's back in popularity again after the wilderness years of 1990s - 2010s. It's nicely retro, without being cheesy. It just does the job without hassle. Back to analog. I bet you can even find a mono cartridge if you look around.
