This waistcoat is awesome. I dislike sport coats so I opted for a waistcoat to class up my business casual look. I liked it so much I bought 5 of them. I constantly get compliments on these. They are certainly not for the warmest months and climates but they are ideal for fall and cool days. I pair this with dress boots and a signature hat and most people have come to associate my ensemble with my personality.
As for the fit, I'm in between the standard large and extra large sizes with large t shirts fitting me perfectly. My dress shirt size is 16-16 1/2 inch neck, 34-35 inch sleeves, classic or athletic fit. With this in mind the large best was too tight and the extra large was perfect with some slight adjustments to the waist adjuster in the rear. I am 6' 1" and the extra large fits just below the belt as expected, though ymmv depending on torso length.
I had a button come off on one of the best but my trusty sewing kit solved that problem easy. Great waistcoat for the money.
