The size is accurate with your street shoe size. IF you need toe pads order 1/2 larger than your usual street shoe size. The shank is very strong, it may be too strong for some dancers. Overall, this is a good pointe shoe for the money. :)

I love how the pointe slippers look. They are very elegant and well put. BUT, I wear a size 7 in pointe slippers. I went up a size to 7.5 knowing they will always be smaller then the normal shoe size. I put them on and they were too small. I put my foot up to the slipper and my foot was longer by 2 sizes. I was shocked. So, I'm doing a return and getting 2 sizes up than my normal size. Be aware when ordering. 2 sizes up is the best and I would highly recommend that.** (I also have a very slim and tiny foot, so that shows you how small these pointe slippers run** AND they were a wide just for the swelling of the foot.

These are great basic pointe shoes, they do run a little big, even with the toe pads so unless you need a little extra room for a bit of cotton on the toes I'd go a half size down. Hard shank, good sturdy toe box and the black satin is gorgeous.

As a dancer these are beautiful shoes for the money. I wanted something fun to practice in and these are great. They also come with a set of toe pads which is always nice! The laces are machine sewn in so you may need to reposition them. If I had to do it over again I'd order them half a size bigger but they still fit fine in my normal size, the shaft is just a bit shorter than I'd like.
