We have been using regular Ember mugs for a few years. Mostly on the weekends when we can sit and enjoy a cappuccino.
Bought one of the black versions of this for my wife for Mother's Day. At first she complained that it was too expensive (to be honest $200 is a lot for a coffee mug). But she quickly grew to love it. Ended up buying the red one for her for Xmas and I inherited her old one.
It is great because she makes coffee early, and puts the mugs back on the charger so we can just grab them on the way out the door. It keeps the coffee at the perfect temp for our commutes. The lid took a little getting used to, but it works well.
Ending up buying another one for my mom (with the car charger), she is outdoors a lot and loves using it both as a mug and a hand warmer.

Rugged, tight seal, indent on body makes for confident handling. Displays are a plus. My one gripe: company should tell their legal / insurance people to back off and raise the maximum held temperature to at least 155. Also: upgrade the battery.
Ok, but not for the money

Let me start with the good stuff, the cup holds a decent amount and it's water tight. Doesn't leak and does keep beverages very hot.
The cup holds a charge for about 1hr and 20min at best. Have tried fully charging and running it down a few times, best I can get is a steady 1hr 20min. I purchased a spare charge coaster for work and that helps keep the cup charged all night and my coffee nice and hot. The cup itself once the battery dies only keeps beverages hot for about 30min, which is disappointing given the cost of this cup. Overall, it works pretty well if you invest in the car charger and have a charge coaster on hand but I wouldn't expect performance when out and about. Doubt I'd buy this again.

My Coffee Stays Hot!

I've used the Ember mug since Feb, and I love it. I work from home, so I don't need a travel mug as much. I do need to keep my coffee hot while traveling occasionally and camping. I've tried many insulated mugs including Tervis and Yeti, and they don't keep coffee hot -- just warm. After our last trip, I decided to give the travel mug a try. I gave it a real test this past week -- it keeps my coffee hot to the last drop -- I just wish it held more drops :-) I don't sip all day -- my coffee lasted 2+ hours, and the battery still had power when the mug was empty. That's a win for me. Based on other reviews, I am careful with the top - no problems yet. I did check to see if it was leak proof. When turned upside down, it does drip a bit, but I think it would be OK if it just tipped over. I would not tuck it under my arm like they show on the web site. Overall, I'm pleased with the travel mug.
Works great, long battery life, not the easiest to drink from, overpriced.

I really like the cup.
My use is highway driving so it keeps my coffee at the right temp for a long time.
The charger shouldn't be proprietary. I should be able to use a USB cable.
For me, there are few lids that work for hot stuff. I still haven't gotten used to this one. And when you think the liquid is all gone, because you can't get it through the lid, there may be 3-4 oz left in the cup. It's just not great.
For what this is, it's very overpriced but Ember has the market on this type of product.
