I've been training as an arborists, climbing, rigging, cutting trees down. Do not have the funds for an Echo CS-2511t, so i gave this little saw a shot, there are 2 videos in youtube if you type farmtech or g2500, all excellent reviews. There are cheaper ones but this one seemed to be made better. It is light weight to carry, starts fast, cuts fast (I put an oregon 12" bar and chain). Top handle chainsaws are meant for arborists to cut limbs sometimes with one hand, also to chunk out trees on the way down. This saw does that beautifully. The handle fits the caritool on my harness and it comes with a clip for the lanyard.

I like this saw. It cuts well, starts fast, and is powerful enough to do most of the clean-up I need to. So far I have spent two days working with saw and have not had any problems. It has cut down a 20 foot tall Juniper tree, and some of the 25 year old over grown bush around the house. A small work horse.

First it's a beautiful design. Reminds me of the old homelite xl2 autos. These are reliable. I'll be purchasing a few more.

I'm 67 years old and retired. My wife and I heat our home exclusively with wood that we cut ourselves. I needed a small, lightweight saw for the smaller, stove size wood that doesn't need to be split and settled on the Joncutter (with a 12" bar & chain),based on the positive reviews, and the affordable price fit our budget. Don't forget to order the bar and chain...the motor is sold alone.
To say I am pleased and impressed is an understatement! I run ethenol free gas in all my small engines. I've used it hard all summer cutting enough wood for a Delaware winter and it still starts right up and cuts anything I ask it to. It even cuts the big stuff without a whimper because I'm spoiled now and hate to pick up the big 20" saw! I'm getting ready to take down three full grown maple trees in our yard this winter and turn them into firewood and my Joncutter will do 90% of the work. The oiler system works well, the saw is easy on fuel and the power is impressive. If or when I wear it out I'll order another one right away. I love this saw!!

Aug 2019. Being an Arborist for 30+ years I have used many climbing saws, mostly Stihl, Husky, Echo, and a couple Poulans. Recently bought this Farmtec just for curiosity, and found it to be a great little saw for the money. I put a 14" Husky bar and chain off a old Husky 23 Compac. This is the same bar and chain used for the old Poulan 2000, 2300 etc. The Farmtec 25 pulls the chain with power. The first test cut was a 18 inch thick pine, and it walked right through it, faster than I expected. With the bar, chain and fully fueled up with chain oil mix the saw weighted in at 9.3 pds. Its easy to use one handed if the need arises in the tree. I have used it 2 times now, and it starts easy and fast. Looking forward to see how it hold up in the long term. For a light weight Arborist saw or a small ground saw you can't go wrong for the price. Will keep this post updated later.
