Don't forget you have to roast these... but the flavor is so good after roasting!
I have 16 grandkids. I picked nutsmeats out after roasting dor 20 minutes, put pennies, dimes nickels and quarters inside and glue 2 pieces together after adding a colorful ribbon. After all gift area clean, get a hammer and brick and one by one each kiddo cracks open with hammer. Coins retrieved. The one with the most total $$ gets a penny. The one with the least gets a dollar bill. Tell a story about respect for money and wisdom to use properly. I am 77 and hope my grandkids pass On This tradition my grandfather shared with us as grandkids so many years ago.
Nut meats went into recipes or became little ziplock bags full for Christmas gifts for others to use in baking.

I bought walnuts 3 times first 2 times they were really good easy to break and taste was fresh and better than any grocery store walnuts . 3rd time I bought and they were so hard to break and were kinda stale as well .
