A colleague 20 years younger had been inviting me to join him and his son at a local skate park. I had not ridden since the late 1970s, and my old Hobie was not up to the task. I finally ran across this board, great reviews, and took a chance. Received just last night and rode around. The picture below shows my old Hobie compared to the Magneto. The feel is incredible. Surprisingly, skating can be like riding a bicycle, at least with this mini cruiser. I ordered the clean, bamboo deck, nice 'M' stamped on the underside. It's a great looking board. Solid trucks, nice wheels. Can say that this board has an excellent feel. This 57 year old was tic-tac-ing, turning 180s, etc., after having been off for over 35 years. A very nice size, great grip. Will report back after a few sessions at the park.

I'm 5'8" 185 pounds and this skateboard was very sturdy under me, no bending whatsoever and I felt very balanced on it. The ride was pretty smooth and fairly quiet. My son, who knows a lot more about skateboarding than I do, took a quick look at it and said it was a really nice board. He did mention that his skateboard had better bearings because you could spin the wheels and they spun forever, whereas this one stopped spinning in a fraction of the time than his. I think more advanced skateboarders will want to change out the bearings, but as a novice rider who hasn't skateboarded in 40+ years (I'm 54), this board was awesome, and I didn't fall off it once! I went down a few hills, swerving back and forth and I didn't encounter any board bite that a few people complained about, but I wasn't really pushing the limits on it either by any means, just casually cruising on it. Overall I would 100% buy again and very happy with it.

Just received it today and am using this as a complete beginners intro to skateboarding. So far I have no issues with the board, it is rigid, the quality seems good, and I don't have any real difficulty balancing on it as a 6 foot tall male.
People have noted the bearings aren't very fluid and mine don't seem to be any different. For the moment I like it as it stops me from going too fast but I can see it being an issue requiring upgrade later as I gain confidence. Turning is also a little difficult as the bushings put up quite a bit of resistance but I've heard that this can go away over time as they break in. I bought the bamboo board used and there's not significant signs of wear and tear. Very happy overall.

I really wanted to give this a 5. The look of this board and the weight is great! It's a gift for my little boy, his first skateboard! However, we received the item today and it's got scratches on the back. I didn't pay "x" amount of money to find that it's got scratches. We will keep this since his party is this weekend and we plan to reach out to the company as well. It won't be the last scratches that board has seen, just bummed we spent $$ for it to not be in pristine condition. Overall it will still be functional!
