I got curious about why the iron quit so I took it apart. Two wires, the neutral and the ground were pulled loose from the circuit board, obviously my fault. I must have accidentally pulled against the iron rather hard as the wires were soldered and fastened securely with the tiniest zip tie I have ever seen. Anyway didn't want to cost the sell as was my fault.
Ordered in February quit in August. Was not very expensive but also wasn't used very much either. Did I get my monies worth. Maybe, but I expected more.
While it worked it was great. Got hot fast, stayed hot. Tip was difficult to keep tinned, maybe not the best tip material but ok. Element did not burn out, the light does not come on and no heat.

I liked the ability to control the heat. I would like slightly larger print as I am an older male, but I was able to easily come up with the proper setting for the type of work I like to occasionally do. I would recommend it.
