Good but some caveats

I like this because it plays US and international DVDs, it's small, and value for money considering we used it a lot. However, the first one I bought only lasted 2.5 years of frequent use. It had already been going bad because for the last year before it died, a lot of DVDs were skipping no matter how I cleaned them or the DVD player. I thought the DVDs were bad, but when I bought a replacement player, the DVDs that had been skipping worked perfectly. That was great, but the drawback was the replacement player all of a sudden the new player won't let me skip ads at the beginning of the DVD like the old one would. That part is frustrating because some kids' DVDs have numerous ads on them, and now our family has to watch each one. I'm not sure why the exact same DVD player model bought 2 years later would do that, but at least the new player plays everything I put in it now. Overall despite all that it's still a good value for money and plays my American and British DVDs.

The DVD player was easy to set up and use. The remote took a few minutes to figure out, but once I played with the buttons, I was able to use this easily. The only drawback I see is that, unlike my US territory DVD player, the megatek does not shut off when I watch only 1 episode. Sometimes I fall asleep watching an episode and have to shut it off when the episode music wakes me up. No biggie, just a difference.
