I don't care that the battery life isn't great bcuz it's just too easy to charge to complain.
These lighters are the bomb & a must have for every home! It's awful to keep throwing unnecessary crap in landfills when we have a choice to use reusable/recyclable.

The Best One We've Tried So Far

So, we've tried a bunch of these rechargeable arc lighters now, as I like to have a candle lighter in each area we regularly have candles for (the dining room, the bath, living area, etc.) for ease of use. This one is by far my favorite. The retractable arc lighter means that other things in drawer don't get sooty, and the built in USB cable is very handy. Also seems to produce a steady arc that makes lighting a candle wick easy on the first try. Holds charge pretty well; with daily use need to recharge maybe once every 3-4 weeks. Handy, easy to use and safer than matches or butane lighters.

This electronic candle lighter works pretty well. I noticed that I need to hold the electric arc against the wick of the candle longer than I do with a butane lighter to get the wick to light, but that isn't a huge adjustment. The convenience factor of being able to recharge this lighter is worth it, plus it is honestly pretty cool to see the arc doing its work.
The only issue I have with it (and it may just be my individual unit) is that it emits an almost inaudible high-pitched whining noise when the arc is lit. At first, it scared the absolute heck out of my cat and sent him running. He still reacts to it somewhat (not nearly as badly) and I can tell he's bothered on some level by the sound, which honestly bugs me because I don't like startling my poor cat each time I light a candle in the same room as him. It's not a massive gripe but still something to be aware of if you have pets.

I love having real candles in the room, but now have bad arthritis in my hands and fingers. The large bendable lighters are no longer manageable and I'm always fearful of dropping matches. This lighter is the greatest!! No fire, SO easy to light and I'm back to having candles in my living room. I can't respond on the battery life, because I haven't had the lighter this long but, at a low cost of $10.00, I'm not concerned. Thanks for a fantastic product!
