This is a good quality buckwheat from Russia where the better buckwheat usually comes from. They don't add chemicals or mysterious additives in Russia like we do here, it's not GMO which they don't allow. unfortunately our FDA has sold out to the chemical companies and don't have the interest of the American people's health I've ordered many times and I've never had rocks or foreign matter in the buckwheat just ordered again nine packages price is a little better than it was in May when I ordered last. You do need to rinse them in cool water
