It's really hard to lose weight when you're Asian. A lot of our recipes contain a lot of added white sugar and of course carbs: white rice, rice noodles, rice flour. It's in everything. As I got older my body had more difficulty digesting it. I had a bit of a gluten belly. After many experiments, I found that the buckwheat is a much lower carb than brown rice. I changed my diet, swapped out all the rice and pasta for this. I even switched to monk fruit stevia and tossed out my sugar and Splenda. With exercise, I dropped a good 10 lbs in about 2 months. It was hard to eat at first but with repetition it became an habit. It is easy to cook in a rice pot or on stove top. Just needs additional water.
These have that nutty-crunchy taste and not hard to chew.
